The last time we shot Cartethyia Cosplay at the studio, we specifically set up a blue and white Roman column scene. Paired with cool ambient lighting, the image clarity turned out even more translucent than expected. Built around Roman columns and light blue flowers, the set perfectly matched the black, white, and blue tones of the outfit design. Complemented by diffused cool-toned light and shadows, the entire set exhaled a quiet, slightly mysterious atmosphere.
These four photos released today are shots I'm personally very pleased with. I especially love Photo 3's pose, sitting atop the stone pillar. During shooting, balancing barefoot on a smooth pillar surface was quite physically demanding, requiring me to keep my torso straight while naturally extending my leg lines. The outfit's tailoring is unique—the upper body combines a black-and-white techwear panel design, while the gold chain and metal ring at the neckline carry great texture. Long braids were woven into the front of the wig, and the elf ear accessories were chosen specifically with tiny blue beads. Coupled with blue arm wraps and lightweight blue-and-white ribbons fluttering easily under the studio's circulation fans, Photo 2's open-armed standing pose conveys magnificent visual tension.
Many might be curious about the black-framed glasses gesture in Photo 5; this was a fun pose recreation captured during a crew rest break. Combining a sharp glance behind the lenses with a single-finger guiding gesture captured that slightly serious yet playful charm from the original splash art. Even though it was just a small gesture recreation, setting up the camera angle to mirror the original pose added plenty of fun to the shoot.
Photographer Huaiyi handled the lighting with exquisite finesse. Before exporting the shots, he specially adjusted the cyan-blue color temperature—avoiding harsh overexposed whites in favor of soft pinkish-blue light on face and clothing, which made facial luminosity feel remarkably natural. Our synergy on set was seamless; whenever adjusting poses, he offered timely framing advice. For example, my seated poses in Photo 1 and Photo 4 came from his guidance to rest my hands on my chest and collar, achieving this focused yet gently relaxed vibe.
The post-processing for this set wasn't overly altered in color, focusing primarily on preserving the cool white base tone while emphasizing subtle blue ambient light highlights. Anyone who has been on set knows that portraying a character's agility in static Anime-style photography isn't easy—one must maintain correct muscle alignment while controlling gaze and facial expressions. Attempting barefoot, seated, and standing angles without shoes actually made it easier to immerse into the character's background setting.
Looking back over these photos in this Casual cosplay log brings a lot of emotion.
