Today I wrapped up the seaside Swimsuit photoshoot for Aemeath from Wuthering Waves. The color scheme of this ensemble is exceptionally vivid—the contrasting pink and blue palette is remarkably photogenic against the sand. To honor Aemeath's design, I carefully trimmed the bangs and layered the pink wig, adorning the crown with starfish motifs and sheer light-blue tulle hair ornaments, accompanied by a yellow wristband and delicate layered necklaces. For makeup, I intensified the pink smudge at the outer corners of the eyes, paired with emerald green lenses to lend the gaze a luminous clarity under natural light. A blue heart-shaped tattoo decal was placed on the chest as an extra character detail.
Prior to the shoot, I studied the coastal lighting conditions carefully. The afternoon sun was quite glaring, so we predominantly relied on diffused, bounced light to avoid harsh facial shadows. The translucent pink mesh cover-up layered over the swimsuit is peppered with golden sequins, creating gorgeous dynamic motion whenever caught by the sea breeze. Pearl chains along the waist and ruffled shorts preserved that sweet 2D charm. Stepping barefoot on the sand felt pleasant, though the sun-baked ground was quite hot; tip-toeing across the heat unintentionally helped sustain a light, airy posture.
Our prop preparation was thorough. The translucent pink inflatable swim ring was filled with golden glitter, catching the sunlight with a radiant sheen whether held in hand or resting by my side. We also laid out a blue-and-white gingham picnic mat decorated with green apples, muscat grapes, cherries, and a woven straw hat. Ice cream served as an essential prop—holding a waffle cone or snacking on sweets naturally coaxed out relaxed, authentic facial expressions. A small ice cream cup paired with a wooden spoon also injected a cozy, lifestyle touch into the frame.
Throughout the shoot, crashing waves and steady coastal winds demanded constant vigilance over the wig's styling. Raising an arm on the sand or balancing on one leg made center-of-gravity control quite tricky, requiring dozens of takes to freeze natural gestures. For the prone pose with raised legs, the photographer dropped to a low angle, sculpting smooth bodily contours. While seated holding the ice cream cone, I angled my torso sideways and stretched my legs toward the camera to visually elongate my lines. Coastal photography is all about timing, such as waiting for the exact split second when the tide recedes before firing the shutter.
Overall, this seaside production was a real test of adapting to natural elements. The lightweight fabrics demanded prompt cleaning whenever splashed with seawater or dusted by sand. From early garment coordination and on-set camera framing to pose calibration and final selects, every stage called for meticulous control. This series faithfully captures her holiday getaway persona by the Seaside beach, and I hope everyone enjoys this refreshing Swimsuit look!
