[Fuuka Aikiyo Cosplay] Blue Archive's Resident Chef Outside Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo Today

I managed to wrap up the shoot in a Maid outfit on the morning of Day 2 at Guangzhou Firefly ACG Expo. Though the sunlight was glaring that day, the photos shot in the garden's tree shadows turned out surprisingly rich in atmosphere. This time I cosplayed Fuuka Aikiyo from Blue Archive. When I received this Maid outfit, I was actually pleasantly surprised—while it features a classic black-and-white design overall, the intricate details perfectly capture her signature capable and diligent aura. The white ruffled trim on the collar paired with a large black bow tie, along with the delicate lace edging on the cuffs and skirt hem, make the entire styling look exceptionally refined. To faithfully recreate her features, I put a lot of thought into styling: the wig was styled into black twin-tails with her signature teal-green gradient at the tips, which looked remarkably distinctive in the sunlight. The iconic red geometric floating halo atop her head was the visual focal point of this cosplay, crafted from lightweight materials to facilitate easy positioning without being too heavy. I've always felt the highlight of this outfit lies in its blend of playful charm and a strong sense of duty execution. During the shoot, the photographer had me experiment with various states—a quiet moment sitting back against a couch looking at the camera, a pose holding a pudding model on one palm atop my head, and even a moment standing on the pathway lifting my skirt hem as sunlight filtered through the leaves. Pairing white stockings with black Mary Jane shoes remains a classic combination that elongates leg proportions while making the overall Maid outfit look complete and unified. The location this time was an outdoor lounge area near the venue, surrounded by lush greenery and grey outdoor sofas. The clean environment highlighted the character herself without clutter stealing the spotlight, creating ideal conditions for Anime-style photography. Adjusting my poses during the shoot went smoothly; despite feeling a bit warm staying outdoors in full costume for a while, seeing the radiant light texture in the final shots made everything completely worthwhile. Cosplaying itself is an experience of immersing myself in a character's atmosphere, and having such a free-roaming outdoor space outside the convention allowed me to capture the exact vibe I wanted much better than inside crowded halls. Heading to the location from the hotel all by myself with gear, then gradually adjusting poses in the sunlight, every single movement was an effort to find moments that best fit her personality. When holding the yellow dish pudding prop in hand, a subtle upward curve of my lips and relaxed hand gestures while seated—all these tiny details came together to shape a vivid portrayal of the character. This is probably the unique experience brought by 2D culture—stepping into another self briefly in the real world and freezing those memories in time.
