Changing into the full gear of the Goddess of Victory Rapi at the venue of the PE Exhibition (Beijing Photography Equipment Exhibition), the final photos turned out beyond expectations. A lot of effort went into making this cosplay costume, striving to match the original game setting as closely as possible, from the tailoring of the army-green sleeveless top to the color contrast of the red tie. The combination of the beret and long straight pink hair achieved a high level of accuracy under the booth's light and shadow.
To really complain about the prop gun and ammo belt, they were truly a "sweet burden." When posing with the heavy prop gun, I had to pay extra attention to the support of my shoulders and wrists, otherwise the movements would easily look stiff. However, it was precisely this physical weight that gave the character's military vibe more realism. The black over-the-knee socks paired with the ammo belt accessories at the bottom filled the look with detail. Special thanks to the booth staff for providing a rich setting—ammo boxes, warning signs, and neon light strips, preventing the composition from falling flat.
During the shoot, I communicated a lot with the photographer regarding different positions, including standing, sitting, and kneeling postures, trying my best from every angle to capture the character's cold yet slightly soft demeanor. The on-site smoke and lighting effects saved a lot of trouble for post-processing, as the atmospheric feel could be directly brought out by the lights. As an immediate output from an exhibition venue, I am quite satisfied with the texture of the 2D world coming to life in the photos. Because moving around with realistic equipment was somewhat inconvenient, it instead made me enjoy the process of meticulously polishing every single frame within a fixed scene. Meeting fellow fans during interactions who recognized the character and chatting a bit about the settings and props was the most unexpected joy of this Anime-style photography session.
