A highly Gothic black-and-gray maid outfit paired with the iconic short purple hair and red-and-black headpiece—this is my most intuitive perception of the character Shizuku Kuroe. Collaborating with the photographer @ZaiShengXiaDengDai (在盛夏等待) this time, we wanted to present more than just "wearing clothes"; rather, we aimed to blend that unique indulgence and sweet-spicy vibe of the character into a real-life setting.

This costume has plenty of highlights. The main black-white-gray dark jacquard fabric has an excellent texture, adorned with layers of white ruffles along the edges. The metal ring at the neckline and the cascading black chains add a lot of ascetic visual impact, which, when paired with black lace tights and thick-soled high-heeled ankle boots, visually elongates the leg proportions. To recreate the character's temperament, the wig styling underwent many adjustments, making that touch of purple look exceptionally translucent under the light. The color contrast between the twin red roses and black lace on the headpiece is a highly ingenious design highlight. In terms of makeup, to fit the character's somewhat lazy and rebellious "mature spicy girl" setting, the focus was placed on outlining the gaze and choosing the lip color, making the overall demeanor both slightly aggressive and vivid.

We chose a cozy home environment full of life for the shooting scene. In picture five, I opted for a standing pose in front of the kitchen cabinets, where the white grid tiles and wooden shelves behind formed a clean and crisp background, creating a powerful color contrast with the black dress and beautifully highlighting the main subject and the details of the black lace stockings. Other scenes were next to a sofa covered with a blue-and-white checkerboard cloth, which, paired with those cute plush toy props, cleverly blended 2D dreaminess with a daily feel for this casual cosplay. A small red-and-white polka-dot mat, a small wooden tray, and even an egg whisk all became props for me to play with that day.

In this real and ordinary space, I used the character's eyes and posture to converse with the lens's focal length. Squatting on the ground playing with props, or the moment of looking back at the camera, all showcased different sides of the character. This process of reshaping a 2D character in a 3D scene is inherently charming. The character of Shizuku Kuroe, thanks to Kitagawa Marin's interpretation, naturally carries a soul injected with life. As a cosplayer, I hope to retain this vivid aura as much as possible. Through different lighting, angles, and movements, the elegance of the Gothic maid outfit, the hazy beauty of the lace elements, and the laziness brought by the platform high heels were all fully recorded. This is Shizuku Kuroe in my eyes, carrying that indulgence and purity. This piece of Anime-style photography beautifully documents my passion.
