[Remielle cosplay] An Angel Fallen to Earth, Tranquil Moments in Zenless Zone Zero - Image 1

Putting on this Remielle outfit and stepping into the world of Zenless Zone Zero, the first impression is the meticulous control over details. The pink gradient long hair paired with silver star-shaped hair clips, plus the elf makeup and ear props, visually escapes the heaviness of reality. The theme of this shoot is "an angel fallen to earth." To fit this setting, I chose a posture of sleeping peacefully with my eyes closed, surrounded by light-colored bouquets, trying to capture a sense of tranquility detached from the hustle and bustle within the light and shadow.

The entire makeup and styling process took more time than expected. In particular, achieving the elf makeup and ensuring the elf ears blended seamlessly into the skin edges required delicate work to create a natural visual extension. The wig styling also took a lot of effort; although the pink palette is gentle, creating this airy and layered feel required local teasing and styling of the hair strands. The position of the silver hair accessories would disrupt the balance if skewed even slightly, so extra caution was taken when placing them.

The core highlight of this outfit lies in the massive amount of white Angel wings decorations and semi-transparent ribbon splicing. The distribution of the feathers couldn't be too scattered, or it would look messy, yet they needed enough volume to present a natural fluffiness and a gravity-induced drooping effect when lying down. To protect these Angel wings, I was extremely careful throughout the process, because once deformed by pressure, the texture in the photos would be significantly compromised. The blue bow ribbon and silver metal buckle at the neck served as an excellent highlight, giving the originally pink-and-white dominant palette a touch of cold, exquisite elegance.

The reflective purple backdrop at the shooting location is the soul of the whole picture. Coupled with the glossy floor, it creates a sparkling atmosphere akin to dreamy bubbles. Shooting against such a highly reflective background strongly tests the lighting setup. We had to avoid the purple fabric dyeing the shadows with strange colors while ensuring the light hit the side profile and feathers evenly, highlighting the character's soft silhouette. The photographer and I coordinated several angle adjustments and eventually found this soft side-lighting solution, allowing the translucency of the feathers to beautifully echo the reflective fabric.

From beginning to end, whether it was the placement of props, the details of the makeup, or the posture control during the shoot, everything was aimed at expressing the uniquely divine yet fragile temperament I perceive in Remielle from Zenless Zone Zero. When the final photos came out, the intended "sense of falling" and "tranquility" were wonderfully presented. Cosplay is more than just wearing clothes; it's an immersive experience of diving into a character, pondering the atmospheric expression beyond the costume itself. Sorting through this experience is a reflection on my dedication this time, and also the most authentic record of this character and this Cosplay photography session.
