The Convention photos from the Nanning Liangya Comic Convention are finally organized! Preparing for this Touhou Project Cirno cosplay look took quite a bit of time beforehand. The outfit's overall color palette blends light blue and white, featuring delicate sequins and lace textures throughout the fabric. The large pink-and-white bow on the chest and the holographic Ice crystal wings on the back serve as visual focal points. The wings feature an irregular diamond shape with a holographic reflective surface that refracts colorful hues beneath the venue's ceiling lights, perfectly matching the ice fairy persona. The wig is a vivid blue short cut with blunt bangs, flanked on both sides by bow hairpieces crafted from lace and transparent materials, accented with miniature floral decorations and hair clips. For makeup, matching the character, I wore bright blue colored contacts; the overall look was kept clean and translucent, with noticeable blush swept across the cheeks to add a healthy glow. The detached lace sleeves on my arms featured snowflake charms, while pearl chains and crystal pendants adorned the skirt and waist, producing faint tinkling sounds while walking. For footwear, I wore light blue platform shoes tied with pink ribbons and ankle lace.
The shoot took place in a relatively open corner of the convention, with an industrial ceiling and lighting trusses in the background. The photographer handled the lighting skillfully, using a wide aperture to blur the background and later desaturating the background into low-saturation black-and-white during post-processing, making the blues and pinks on the character stand out sharply against the gray tones. In front of the camera, I experimented with various posing sequences. When shooting seated, crossing my legs highlighted the irregular high-low hemline of the skirt while visually elongating my leg contours. While standing, lifting one leg or raising one hand to touch the tiny green hair accessory broke the static feel, injecting dynamic energy into the frame. The fabric of the dress is relatively lightweight, but with so much lace, walking around the exhibition hall in summer still felt rather stifling. Although the Ice crystal wings on my back looked stunning, their sharp edges meant I had to weave through crowds very cautiously to avoid bumping into passersby. The venue floor was highly reflective, requiring considerable effort to find the right angles and stances. Modeling was done by myself and the photographer was an acquaintance, making communication smooth—we usually got the shot in one take. Given the complex lighting at the convention, achieving such an impact in an on-site setting owed much to post-processing color grading and lighting adjustments. These Convention photos capture my genuine state on the day of the event, and I am deeply grateful to the photographer for their patient captures.
