This Touhou Project Reisen Udongein Inaba cosplay shoot was primarily focused on exploring a crisp, sharp yet dangerously poised visual style within a pure white studio. Reisen inherently carries the background lore of a moon rabbit; tied to the theme of madness, the core of the entire shoot lay in channeling that unique aura through static physical tension. In designing poses, I referenced dynamic postures with high visual impact—ranging from standing firearm holds to diverse seated angles utilizing props.

The garment details are extraordinarily rich. The black blazer features crisp white piped edging, accented with multiple silver metallic rings, leather buckles, and harness straps. The cuffs feature red folded accent panels, worn over a crisp white collared shirt and a black-and-white striped tie. The lower half consists of a purplish-red plaid pleated miniskirt with white contrast inserts, silver chain drapes, and slender side leather straps. The leg styling is the crowning highlight of this coordinate, embracing an asymmetrical concept: one leg wears a solid black over-the-knee sock with white stripes and metallic buckle straps, while the other dons horizontal Striped stockings in alternating magenta and black. Both sides connect to black leather garter straps and thigh rings. The footwear features black chunky platform creepers adorned with buckle straps, metallic rings, and heart-shaped buckles. For the head styling, long straight light-purple hair with blunt bangs is crowned by asymmetric red-and-white bunny ear headpieces, black barrettes pinned into the bangs, and a black leather choker with a silver ring around the neck. To embody the character's demeanor, red contact lenses were paired with clean, razor-sharp eye makeup to give the gaze piercing impact.

For props, I prepared a black handgun and an assault rifle with an extended barrel. Photographer Yemiaoxia arranged bright, uniform lighting within the white cyclorama; the stark white backdrop impeccably accentuated the bold contrast between red, black, magenta, and white. A white cube pedestal served as the sole prop in the scene, unlocking versatile seated possibilities. While seated, crossing my legs highlighted the intricate details of the asymmetric Striped stockings and thigh garters. Holding the prop firearms—whether raising a handgun single-handedly, gripping with both hands, or resting the rifle against my shoulder—demanded a straight spine and crisp decisiveness. To evoke the Lunatic moon rabbit persona, facial expressions were kept calm with an unwavering, intense stare.

White background photography places rigorous demands on garment details and bodily posture, as there is no environmental backdrop to distract the viewer's eye; every ounce of tension must be precisely modulated through body language. We spent considerable time adjusting wardrobe lines and fine-tuning poses, particularly micro-adjusting the alignment of the leg garters and thigh-high socks to achieve the best visual cadence. Moving through different stances, I channeled that state of surface composure masking tremendous inner power. From standing with hands clasped, to leaning a cheek on one hand atop the cube, to resting the rifle across my torso, every transition required keeping fabric folds clean and props aligned. Sincere thanks to the photographer for patient guidance, and to this exquisite costume for bringing me closer to Reisen. Every shutter release felt like a dialogue with the character, and I hope this white studio set reveals the multi-faceted charm of Reisen Udongein Inaba.
