This time, I am bringing you a cosplay of Patchouli Knowledge from Touhou Project. This outfit has so many details, especially the layers of lace trim and the light purple chiffon fabric, which feels very light and airy as a magician when worn. The color of the wig was adjusted through several versions, and I finally chose this light purple with a grayish tone. Combined with the rimless glasses and her iconic nightcap, her overall temperament shines through.

The shooting location was inside a venue of a large anime convention. The ground was actually gray concrete, which happens to contrast nicely with the light-colored costume, making the final photos look cleaner. In terms of props, I prepared a few vintage spellbooks and parchment letters to add a sense of narrative. The lighting on site was quite complex, but the photographer made great use of the light spots from the ceiling of the venue to make the frame translucent.

The makeup for this look was intentionally kept light and clear, with the eye makeup leaning towards pinkish-purple to highlight the intellectual temperament of the character. Since Patchouli is a Witch who stays in the library all year round, I tried my best to choose more static poses like reading a book or adjusting my glasses, which feels closer to the character's native personality. Squatting on the ground and kneeling postures during the shoot were actually quite tiring for my legs, but it was all worth it for the final effect.

I hope everyone likes this version of Patchouli. If there's an opportunity in the future, I'd love to shoot in more magical settings, such as using candles and bookshelves as props, or experimenting with a low-key light and shadow style.
