A lot of thought went into the initial clothing coordination and makeup/styling details for this winter fluffy derivative styling of Rem. Instead of completely copying the original maid outfit, it combines a cute style with winter fluffy and animal elements, and I am extremely satisfied with the effect of the final photos.

In terms of clothing selection, a large area of white fluffy material can easily look bloated if the cut is not paid attention to. Therefore, an off-the-shoulder design was specially chosen to reveal the collarbone lines. The white fluffy collar around the neck with a golden bell fills the empty space of the neck and slightly shifts the overall visual center of gravity downward. The lower body is paired with pink ribbed over-the-knee socks, which not only echo the colors of the hair clip and gloves but also visually elongate the leg proportions. The white fluffy leg covers at the ankles and black glossy small leather shoes add to the layering of the styling.

During the shooting process, action design was crucial. To fit the cute feeling like a small animal, hand movements could not be too rigid; fingers needed to be slightly curled up, imagining oneself as a little paw. In the first standing photo, I turned slightly sideways, raised both arms, and looked directly into the lens, which could show a little playfulness. In the second sitting photo, I crossed my legs, leaned my body forward, and brought one hand close to my cheek, which not only made the face look smaller but also created an interactive feeling with the lens through the gaze. Under the sitting posture, the pink ribbed over-the-knee socks could wonderfully showcase the leg curves and material texture.

Shooting against a pure white background is a technical job for lighting. A white background and white clothing easily blend together, causing blurry edges. Therefore, during the shoot, besides the main light source, rim lights were added on both sides to separate the character from the background. The fluffy material absorbs light; to capture the fluffy and soft texture, softboxes were used in the lighting setup so that the light could sprinkle more evenly across the clothes. The light on the face also needed to be as soft as possible to avoid harsh shadows, which, combined with blue contact lenses, allowed the details of the eye makeup to be clearer.

To maintain the natural feel of the blue wig, a lot of time was spent on trimming and styling, trying to make the hair strands look airy rather than as a rigid single block. A small pink hair clip pinned to the side added a girlish feel. In terms of makeup, to highlight the innocent feel of 2D anime, pink tones were used in a large area for eyeshadow and blush, the eyeliner turned down slightly, and paired with blue contact lenses, making the gaze look more agile. The entire shooting process was about constantly adjusting poses and lighting to find the exact moment that best fit the character, and this set of photos completely achieved the effect I expected.
