This snow shoot chose this white fluffy texture style. Doing an outdoor shoot in an ice-and-snow covered environment meant the perceived temperature was actually quite a bit lower than expected. Although the clothes looked thick, the off-the-shoulder design still required a bit of courage to brave the cold in the snow.
Let's talk about the makeup, hair, and costume selection this time. The white romper in a fluffy material has a great visual blending with the snow. If it were pure solid white, the character would melt into the background, so I specially paired it with pink striped socks and fluffy hair accessories to brighten the overall color tone. A thick fluffy cowl was added at the neck, providing both warmth and a visual touch of modification for the lower half of the face. Although the clear straps are a practical anti-slip design, we made some plans in both post-processing and early framing/blocking for the final shooting effect.
As for the custom phone case held in hand, it is actually part of the styling as well. The deep green phone case adorned with a little deer in the snow formed a sharp color jump with the white clothing, adding a sliver of playfulness. Under the natural light of the snowscape, the person's skin tone and the short blue wig appeared exceptionally fair, which is also a part I deliberately adjusted in the makeup, allowing the pink eye makeup and the "X"-shaped hair accessory to contrast with the overall cool tone of pink, white, and blue.
For the post-processing of the photos, we adopted a high-key, bright snowscape color grading to make the frame look clean and translucent without looking dull. It happened to be snowing during the shoot, and the snowflakes falling through the air served as the foreground, adding some dynamic breathing room and allowing the static photos to better transmit emotion. This type of theme is highly classic in winter, but executing it is quite a test of the photographer's candid capturing ability and the model's posture control.
For this shoot, I must give special thanks to the photographer, Suyu Aichi Sanwenyu (่่ๆๅไธๆ้ฑผ), whose grasp of light and composition was highly meticulous, allowing me to find many relaxed photo angles even in the freezing snow. I hope everyone likes this styling share in the snow. The shooting atmosphere was very relaxed, without deliberately forcing any high-cold poses, leaning more towards a cute Casual cosplay interaction vibe, which is actually the most natural and comfortable style.
Overall, regarding this photoset, I am quite satisfied with both my expressiveness and the restoration of costumes, makeup, hair, and props. Being able to rush into this snow season to record such an outdoor shoot makes the trip fully worthwhile. Every time after shooting outdoors and returning indoors to warm up my body, I feel the effort put into this process is completely worth it. The combination of photography and cosplay allows me to experience another extension of the character in specific scenes, which is exactly why I have always been passionate about outdoor shoots. A winter-limited snowscape carrying a bit of fluffy warmthโI hope everyone can feel this unique winter outfit style from the icy world. Since the character herself possesses light-colored hair, doing this kind of styling in a snow scene creates a highly fitting stage effect, easily reminding people of the unique anime atmosphere characteristic of winter.
These details constitute the foundation of the entire photoset. Whether it was the tailoring of the costume or the selection of accessories, the stylist and I repeatedly adjusted them several times, all to achieve the most full visual presentation in front of the lens. Although outdoor shoots carry many uncertainties, this final snowfall happened to align with our theme, giving the entire photoset the perfect advantage of timing and placement. I hope this work can bring everyone a refreshing feeling in the new year; the unique experience woven from coldness and cuteness is also the core of what I want to convey this time.
