When shooting this set of photos, the melody of "Bird's Poem" was constantly looping in my mind. Standing by the seaside and along the streets of old folk houses, I truly felt a trance-like sensation that "Misuzu is right by my side." This time, to recreate Misuzu Kamio's gentle yet slightly lonely temperament, I specifically chose scenes with a shrine, a sea wall, and those Japanese countryside alleys for the shoot. Since Misuzu herself gives off a quiet, clear, yet deeply burdened feeling, I didn't deliberately make exaggerated happy expressions during the shoot, but rather focused on capturing that subtle smile and the moments drifting with the wind. The wig was restyled, with fluffiness and a natural gradient added to the ends. Paired with her iconic large white bow, it turned heads on the street way beyond my expectations. The outfit was also custom-made. The patterns of the sailor collar and the skirt hem were adjusted repeatedly several times, especially the red bowtie and the drape of the black midi skirt, just to make it flare out naturally when spinning, as seen in the photos. The pairing of black Martin boots with black calf socks retains the cuteness of the school uniform while adding a touch of practical, casual cosplay vibe. It doesn't look out of place at all walking on these stone-paved roads. The wind was actually a bit strong on the day of the shoot, but it turned out to be a huge help—the moment the wind blew through my hair and skirt really felt like that breezy atmosphere in the anime. To capture different atmospheres, we switched between several locations: from the breakwater near the water to quiet alleys, and then to the pebble beach by the sea and the steps in front of the shrine. In every frame, I tried my best to immerse myself in Misuzu's perspective—that state of mind of yearning for the sky while tightly gripping the reality of the ground. Although the story of AIR carries a faint sadness, being able to preserve the beauty of this character in photos through my own way is truly a very happy thing. I hope this set can convey that sense of tranquility belonging to summer, the sea breeze, and Bird's Poem.
