I'm on duty today! ~ ~ Here is a set of supermarket-themed photos shot by photographer Xiao Lei. Taking advantage of the weekend, we shot a series of photos with a strong slice-of-life feel at a nearby supermarket. Today, I'm primarily sharing three candid snapshots taken in front of shelves and pushing a shopping cart.
The first photo shows me standing in front of the beverage shelf, reaching for the topmost row of lactic acid bacteria drinks. Because of my height, I had to stand on tiptoe and stretch out my hand to touch that soda bottle. To accommodate the camera capture, I looked back towards my right rear. This pose actually tests core balance, but to give the image a sense of extension, I shifted my weight onto one leg, allowing my body to present a graceful angle. The outfit consists of a beige long-sleeved shirt under a burgundy apron, paired with black straight-leg trousers and dark brown platform leather shoes. This color combination conveys an energetic clerk vibe—the bold contrast of red, yellow, and black, combined with the red wig, looks exceptionally vibrant under the bright supermarket lights.
The second photo is a tighter close-up, set against a refrigerated display counter with signs for Japanese ice cream. Holding a small box of dessert pudding with a cartoon smiley face, I lightly rested my left index finger on my chin in a playful, thoughtful stance. The long straight red hair and red hairpins created a fun synergy with the small box of dessert. Shooting such a headshot close-up requires high skin transparency in makeup; I highlighted facial contours and paired it with signature red pupils, hoping to recreate an energetic expression. Warm ceiling lighting in the supermarket contoured facial features, while the photographer compressed the depth of field to avoid passerby distractions, keeping focus firmly on me and this cute prop.
The third photo captures the moment of pushing a shopping cart forward. Depth of field here is shallow, with background snack shelves and walking shoppers blurred into light bokeh, highlighting the subject. With both hands gripping the cart handle, I leaned forward slightly, looking at the camera with a relaxed demeanor. Shooting this type of shot relies heavily on candid timing; I was originally picking out daily supplies when Xiao Lei pressed the shutter as I turned around while pushing the cart, capturing this natural dynamic. I really like the combination of the red kerchief and two small hairpins in this look, along with the white ID badge clipped to the apron pocket—these details add authentic immersion to a Casual cosplay setup.
The entire session was smooth and fun; we adjusted camera angles multiple times. In a real Supermarket photoshoot, the main key is not to fear blocking shelves—flexibly adjusting arm height and cart angles easily integrates you into the environment. This set not only captures Miss Yamada cosplay vibes on duty but also stays grounded in everyday realism. The matte texture of the red wig performed cleanly under warm indoor lights without turning harsh orange. Every shoot is a fresh exploration—thanks to all the crew members and photographer Xiao Lei for patient framing guidance, always finding new angle inspirations in conventional settings.
