We agreed to go shopping for Halloween, but ended up diving straight into the arcade. That is probably the destiny of rhythm gamers. Having finally found a networked maimai DX cabinet, I really didn't want to leave. I put a lot of thought into this outfit: the blue wig took a long time to style so that it looked natural, and for the colored contacts, I deliberately picked a translucent light blue. To recreate the eye makeup, I focused heavily on the outer corners of the eyes with smudged pink and red eyeshadow, and applied plenty of blush, striving to capture the character's slightly tsundere yet adorable expression. The costume is made of a shiny black fabric with a form-fitting cut, a white pointed collar, and a black bow, giving it a great texture once worn. However, not being the real Rem after all, standing before the arcade mirror looking at myself, I truly sighed, "You really aren't Rem after all." Under the purple lighting, looking at fellow rhythm gamers playing in the background, this contrasting experience was truly wonderful. Because the outfit was so eye-catching, people around turned to look a few times as I walked up to the cabinet. But I didn't care at all, immediately inserting coins and selecting songs. Playing rhythm games in this outfit actually required quite a workout—especially since the shoulder straps and collar felt slightly tight, and playing high-difficulty charts made me sweat. Still, on a holiday like this, being able to do what I love in my favorite arcade is pure joy in itself. When taking photos, I specifically adjusted the angles; although the arcade lights were chaotic, they surprisingly worked great with this outfit for an Arcade photoshoot. Meeting up with friends to play maimai DX at the arcade this Halloween was an unforgettable experience that will still bring a smile to my face whenever I look back on it.
