For these Rem cosplay convention photos at the Chengdu World Line Anime Exhibition, I chose a pure white off-shoulder dress paired with angel wings and a halo as Angel Rem. Before deciding on this look, I actually hesitated for a long time, as most people's impression of Rem is generally anchored in her classic maid outfit; however, I wanted to present this character from a different perspective. The short blue hair remains central; during trimming, the original silhouette was preserved with only subtle layering added to ensure the shape wouldn't easily collapse during the night shoot.

Regarding the outfit, this pure white dress features intricate lace along the neckline, cuffs, and hem. To make it fit my figure more snugly, I added several concealed safety pins along the back. The props were without a doubt the most exhausting part: the glowing halo required battery life testing beforehand, plus cleverly concealing the battery pack inside the wig or the lining of the dress. The base of the feather wings was fastened to my back with clear shoulder straps; while the weight was manageable, the wings shifted with the slightest movement, requiring constant angle adjustments while shooting. Because I needed to sit barefoot on the tiled floor, I also prepared a white plush mat, which not only kept me from getting cold but also elevated the overall aesthetic atmosphere.

The primary challenge of night photography lies in lighting control. The surroundings were very dark; to emphasize the character's ethereal sanctity, the photographer set up a key light in front, complemented with soft fill light from the side, while letting distant street lamps naturally blur into bokeh orbs in the background. Posing-wise, I tried several stances, including kneeling, clasping hands across my chest, and glancing back over my shoulder, aiming to convey a serene, prayerful mood that contrasts with Rem's usual lively or capable demeanor. For makeup, I paired light blue contact lenses with deepened eye contouring to give my gaze more striking depth in the dark.

The convention hall was actually bustling with energy, and with heavy foot traffic at the Chengdu World Line Anime Exhibition, securing a shooting spot required scouting in advance. The wig for this styling is very picky about lighting; if the light source turns yellow, the soft blue looks dull and lifeless, so we dialed the color temperature of the key light quite high. During the shoot, several fellow fans came over for joint photos, and everyone was incredibly sweet. Every time I cosplay Rem, I'm reminded of the iconic saying: 'If true love has a color, it must be blue.' From preparing costumes and test makeup to repeatedly adjusting light angles on site late into the night, though the process was exhausting, the moment I saw the final photos, all the fatigue melted away.

For anyone looking to attempt this styling, my little tips are: definitely prepare touch-up makeup essentials, as it's easy to sweat in warm weather and setting powder is absolutely vital; also, wear the wig cap completely flat so it doesn't destabilize the halo mounted on top. Outdoor night shoots come with plenty of mosquitoes, so remember to apply insect repellent beforehand to ensure your shooting flow isn't disturbed. Trying out this Angel Rem look fulfilled a different blue dream for me, and I hope everyone enjoys this serene presentation.
