This shoot focuses on Reze from Chainsaw Man. To recreate the character's cold, contrasting aura, everything from makeup and styling to scene composition was meticulously planned. We chose Wenying Photography Studio as our location, which provided a wealth of classically aesthetic props—such as white Roman columns, vintage carved mirrors, withered and blooming white flowers, and golden candelabras—ideally suited for expressing a Dark Gothic aesthetic. The makeup artist, Suxiu, controlled every detail with precision; the purplish-black short hair combined with pale-green contact lenses captured the character's distinct gaze perfectly. The costume centered on the classic black-and-white uniform, especially the Black stockings, which brought out a richly textured sheen under the lighting. To capture this specific dark atmosphere, photographer Yu utilized a low-key lighting approach paired with smoke effects. Warm golden candlelight contrasted against pale, cool skin. During the shoot, I continuously adjusted my poses—such as sitting sideways on black fabric stretching my legs, or resting on a chair with a slight upward gaze—using the visual elongation of the Black stockings to highlight the character's alluring qualities. Achieving this required testing different weight distributions and gaze directions to ensure every movement conveyed tension without feeling stiff. Interacting with props, like cradling white blossoms or gently touching my bowtie, was meant to express the character's sense of detachment and complex inner world through body language. The most challenging aspect was maintaining balance while wearing leather heels and Black stockings, as certain poses required specific angles to flatter the body's curves. I communicated continuously with the photographer to calibrate camera angles and distance. The dramatic shadows cast across my skin constructed the character's melancholic aura. In post-processing, contrast was emphasized to retain fine flame details like sparklers while vignetting the periphery, allowing the central figure to stand out prominently and ground the composition. Using vintage mirrors as blurred foregrounds or Roman columns as vertical leading lines enhanced depth. I focused on integrating costume, lighting, props, and expressions to weave a narrative into this Anime cosplay work. Beyond personal effort, the success of this shoot hinged on seamless teamwork. With styling, wardrobe, and props aligning harmoniously, the session was exhausting yet joyful. This wasn't merely showcasing an attractive outfit, but a complete conveyance of the character's psyche and my aesthetic vision.
