[Tashkent Cosplay] Port Winter Flash Mob: Setting Sail with the Azure Cruiser

The theme for this photoshoot was the Port flash mob, and I chose to recreate Tashkent's winter styling from Azur Lane. The costume design is packed with rich details, requiring substantial preparation from custom-styling the wig to assembling the various costume accessories. First, the pair of thick, plush blue-and-white cat ears in the headpiece is very eye-catching; paired with the long, straight light purple wig, it visually balances the bulk of the winter coat. The bangs and side locks were adjusted precisely to match the character's signature look, ensuring both frontal and profile angles retained her unique charm.

The outerwear is a white plush capelet coat that feels wonderfully smooth to the touch, featuring a generous faux-fur collar that effectively kept out the outdoor chill during the shoot. The front placket is accented with delicate blue cord knots and pendants, while the sleeves are adorned with blue ribbons, creating visual harmony with the character's aesthetic. My favorite detail is the blue bear-head patch with signature crossed eyes on the coat's lower hem—a stylish touch that adds playful charm to the Winter outfit. The lower half was paired with white over-the-knee boots trimmed with blue-and-white leather straps, meeting winter warmth needs while presenting great visual proportions in the setting.

For the location, we selected a combination of indoor and outdoor scenes at a vintage wood-toned café. Indoors, I interacted with an oversized yellow spherical plush wearing a Santa hat, which added a relaxed holiday ambiance. For the shot sitting on a wooden chair, I tried lifting the collar slightly with one hand to let the coat's silhouette drape naturally on camera. In the full-body solo composition, I stood beside a red vintage telephone booth surrounded by blooming purple blossoms—the red, white, and purple harmonized beautifully in the lens. To prevent winter attire from looking bulky on camera, posture and hand placement are essential: I deliberately narrowed my shoulders and alternated resting my hands between my chest and the hem, leveraging the fluffiness of the plush fabric to frame a flattering head-to-shoulder ratio.

For makeup, I opted for a translucent base paired with blue-gray contact lenses to reflect the character's eye color, and applied soft blue tones to the eye makeup without oversaturating, complementing the gentle, warm outdoor lighting. Echoing her classic line—"Comrade, welcome back... Tea? I only have vodka, do you want some?"—the character's personality is all about cool detachment with an endearing contrast. In facial expressions, I maintained a subtle, gentle smirk while keeping my gaze composed.

When shooting winter looks, heat packs and thermal base layers are essential, though one must ensure the clothing's silhouette isn't distorted. In discussions with the photographer, I emphasized preserving the light and shadow gradation on the white parts of the coat under mixed natural and studio lighting, preventing overexposure from washing out fabric textures. The deep wood-toned background created a striking contrast with the large areas of white in the outfit, making the character stand out visually. Despite the cold weather, the outfit provided good insulation, and frequent pose adjustments kept my energy up. Bringing such an intricately designed character to life in this Anime cosplay serves as a double test of character comprehension and expressive performance, and I am very satisfied with how the rich details and scenery came together in the final Tashkent cosplay photos.
