From the moment I took on portraying Chainsaw Man's Reze, I constantly contemplated how to visually channel that pure yet dangerous essence inherent to her nature. Factoring in her lore, we staged the shoot at Chenxing Photography Studio, using a sleek gray studio backdrop paired with classic classroom desks and chairs to lay down a stark, desolate foundation. To disrupt that monotony, the set was lavishly decorated with scattered and potted white daisies. These blossoms provided luminous visual focal points while imbuing the scene with a poignant tension between vitality and decay. For hair and makeup, alongside the indispensable deep violet wig and green cosmetic contacts, I chose a sleeveless white shirt paired with a black pleated miniskirt. Fastening a slender black ribbon bow at the collar and wearing a black choker with a metallic ring accentuated the lines of my upper body. The lower half paired over-the-knee Black stockings with glossy black platform leather shoes, preserving authentic schoolgirl vibes while releasing a dynamic interplay of allure and subtle menace.
To optimize static photography, I decomposed the posing into deliberate emotional beats. In Photo 1, sitting on the classroom chair facing away from the lens with arms draping naturally and fingertips skimming the seat's edge amid a carpet of white daisies sought to convey deep solitude and an empty mind. In Photo 2, curling completely atop the desk with arms hugging my knees and burying my face within my elbows unveiled the guarded, vulnerable side of the character. When facing the lens directly—such as in Photos 3 and 4—sitting upright on the chair with fluid limbs and a direct, unblinking gaze engaged the waist and legs to project resolute confidence and cool detachment. Photo 5 featured holding a transparent umbrella with a daisy stem held gently between my lips while cradling a floral bouquet, leaning into a softer, romantic interpretation. Photo 6 captured me offering a flower toward the camera, gently breaking the fourth wall to cultivate intimacy.
The most demanding frame was Photo 7, which required lying supine on the floor strewn with white daisies. This high-angle top-down perspective was exceptionally demanding on bodily extension; to capture it properly, I laid both arms naturally along the sides of my head, allowing flowers to organically drape over the clothes and frame my body, evoking a visual aesthetic of being submerged in a floral sea—surreally dreamlike yet profoundly fragile.
In terms of lighting, the entire set maintained a cool-gray palette. Cold light crispens the fair complexion of the skin, preserves the tactile sheen of the black stockings, and renders the white shirt and fresh blossoms in their purest clarity. Throughout the shoot, photographer 雨尘 and I continuously fine-tuned light placements to eliminate extraneous shadows, keeping the frame immaculate. Daisies functioned as more than mere decor; they formed an organic visual leading line across the desks, chairs, and floor. Because the tailoring is form-fitting, I vigilantly smoothed the shirt and aligned the skirt hem across every pose shift to keep contours sleek. Compositionally, the rigid geometry of the classroom furniture formed a striking contrast against the delicate flowers and bodily silhouettes. This shoot went beyond merely wearing a costume—it was an endeavor to embody the character's multifaceted nature through body language and atmospheric staging. Every shutter release sought that exact moment of character synergy, and I hope everyone who views these photos can feel the sincere heart poured into this photographic journey.
