This outdoor shoot was chosen in early March. From the nighttime outdoor streetscape to the quiet indoor candlelight, the switching between different light and shadow made the entire shooting experience extremely satisfying. To present the temperament of this character, the makeup deliberately enhanced the depiction of the eyebrows and eyes, with red eyes paired with light purple long curly hair, plus the modification of elf ears to make the facial contours better fit the setting.
Speaking of this styling, just managing the curliness of the wig took a long time. The white highlights combined with the purple hair needed to be smoothed out while maintaining a voluminous feel to avoid going flat. The dark coating on the nails and the red lips formed a great echo, appearing particularly eye-catching under the outdoor cold blue light.
Regarding costume details, a white shirt spliced with wide sleeves of purple stripes was chosen, with the collar brightened up by a black-and-white gemstone bowtie, paired with a black patent leather skirt with a rigid texture. The layers of the skirt hem and the metal buckles added to the three-dimensional feel of the styling. Since walking and holding an umbrella were required, lace-up platform high heels were specially selected, which not only flattered the leg shape but also improved the overall height proportion. The large black-and-purple spliced umbrella held in hand formed a wondrous contrast with the background asphalt road under the cold blue ambient light at night.
During the night shoot, several different hand movements were attempted, such as palms pressed together, resting the chin on hands, and making a 'shh' gesture as shown in the pictures. These are all transmissions of body language that help express that mysterious yet slightly playful feeling. The wind was quite strong that day, and the long hair was often blown into a mess, but thanks to the photographer's patient guidance, we were able to capture the moments of the hair naturally flying.
I especially liked the candlelight shooting of the indoor scene. The warm yellow light source hitting the face formed an alternation of warm and cold tones against the overall cool-toned styling, creating a serene and mysterious atmosphere. The outdoor temperature on the night of the shoot was very low, and standing on the brick pavement waiting for the lighting setup was indeed biting cold, but seeing the texture presented in the playback frames paired with that relaxed state in front of the lens made me feel everything was completely worth it.
Special thanks to the photographer for the tacit cooperation during this outdoor shoot, catching many lively moments. For example, the relaxed feeling of leaning by the bench, and the playful expression of gently covering the mouth in the last photo. The entire set of photos preserved the real skin texture in post-processing without excessive retouching, which is an aesthetic I have always adhered to. I hope this outdoor photography finished set can let everyone feel the quietness and gentleness of this character that breaks through constraints to find peace.
