Shooting this Ringo outfit, my most immediate impression was just how voluminous the fabric was. With countless tiers of lace and ruffled frills, plus the elaborate headpiece adorned with blossoms and feathers, suiting up took over half an hour, and every dressing change demanded extreme caution to avoid damaging those delicate accents. The wig was a vivid bright yellow, and to firmly anchor the white plush rabbit ears, I relied heavily on bobby pins and setting spray, bringing out a remarkably authentic, fuzzy texture under the studio lights. In terms of makeup, I deliberately accentuated the blush and eye makeup with rosier tones to give the eyes a flushed, lively look true to her lunar rabbit identity. The shoot took place at the Nico Photography Base, where the interplay of light and shadow across authentic Japanese wooden architecture and shoji paper sliding doors made for fantastic compositions. The skewer of tricolor dango in my hand, originally intended as a canon prop detail, turned out to be an incredible interactive element on set. Walking barefoot across cold black flagstones and pale gravel brought a slight chill to my soles, but for the sake of conveying that weightless, nimble grace on camera, such minor discomforts faded into the background. The photographer, @强袭型海参, had an exceptional eye for candid moments; instead of demanding rigid poses, simply sitting on the veranda steps or taking a few strolls was enough to capture these natural snapshots. Ringo from Touhou Kanjuden ~ Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom is a character rooted in lunar rabbit lore, and that relaxed yet whimsical charm within Touhou Project has always captivated me. I had long wanted to cosplay her because her aesthetic marries airy, flowing western dresses with complex lacework and ribbon accents. Zhinv dedicated immense care to fine-tuning the outfit and wig styling, particularly spreading the cascading tiers of the back skirt to ensure flawless framing before the lens. The ambient lighting was exceptionally gentle, harmonizing with warm yellow lanterns and blossoming cherry trees to effortlessly summon the mood. Throughout the session, I continuously adjusted my emotional tempo, striving to channel Ringo's leisurely life on the moon. Sitting along the stone steps, holding the dango while leaning slightly to let the skirt billow out showcased the intricate garment construction beautifully. In the standing shots, resting my weight on one leg while slightly elevating the other elongated the silhouette while injecting a spirited, dynamic touch. The overall shoot felt wonderfully relaxed, and the comfortable studio temperature allowed me to fully immerse into the persona. Capturing the flutter of the ruffled hemline and shifting light gradients from varied angles made the creative process deeply engaging. These photos eschew heavy digital retouching, preserving authentic on-set textures and lighting nuance. I hope everyone can feel the evocative charm where Japanese aesthetics meet an Anime cosplay character.
