[Remilia cosplay] The Most Majestic Episode Yet, Wielding the Spear of Gungnir

With the divine spear in hand, I quickly booked a session with my mentor ahead of the upcoming convention. Upon receiving the physical Spear of Gungnir, the grip felt significantly more solid than expected; its smooth red metallic finish glinted with a sharp, cold brilliance under overhead lighting. Sliding into the red-and-white contrast ruffled dress, paired with white stockings and platform heels, the true aura of the Scarlet Devil Mansion mistress materialized through the props and Cosplay outfit.

The highlight of this Fan-made design cosplay lies in its richer skirt layers and intricate lace details. To ensure a full silhouette, I specifically chose an ultra-puffy petticoat, allowing the camera to capture the fluid movement and volume of the skirt whether standing at attention with the spear or mid-air during floating jumps. The makeup subtly echoes the ice-blue wig, featuring reddish-brown eye shadow to align with the original vampire setting, along with subtle cheek highlights to preserve facial dimensionality under harsh convention overhead lights.

The shoot was far more physically demanding than it looks. The heavy dress and little red wings pulled the visual center of gravity downward, yet to embody both majesty and lightness, I repeatedly practiced jump shots and single-leg balance poses. Poses like mid-air floating or lifting one leg required controlling core stability while maintaining composure and elegant finger extensions in mid-air. Executing jump snapshots in red strappy platform heels put immense pressure on ankles and knees—a momentary lapse of focus could result in stiff postures. Thanks to low-angle shots from my mentor, we successfully captured moments where skirts billowed and shoe tips lifted off the ground.

Preparing beforehand as the convention approaches always brings excitement mixed with anticipation. To allow leeway for final editing, I meticulously adjusted prop holding angles and skirt fold alignments beforehand. Choosing a vacant industrial concrete area near the venue as a backdrop, the cool gray tones complemented this red-and-white outfit surprisingly well, making the character feel transported to another realm. Though interpreting a fan-made variation, from the sleek layers of the wig to the imposing lines of the spear, I aimed to convey character presence rather than merely piling on fabric and accessories.

A quick note on the spear details: weight on the Spear of Gungnir is concentrated near the tip. When posing sideways or glancing back, strong wrist support is mandatory to prevent the spearhead from dipping and ruining the character's signature composure and arrogance. After fine-tuning arm extensions, the resulting half-body close-ups and standing full-body shots conveyed the formidable presence worthy of a divine weapon. By the end of the session, my muscles were aching, but seeing every frame radiate the vampire heiress's distinctive tsundere pride and majesty made every rehearsal and physical effort worthwhile. I hope these pre-convention photos show our dedication to character detail—whether canonical or fan-designed, sincere dedication makes for a fantastic cosplay journey.
