[Reimu Cosplay] Bringing Touhou Project's Hakurei Reimu to Fujian Touhou, See You on Site Tomorrow!

Tomorrow is the day of Fujian Touhou! This time, I'm cosplaying Hakurei Reimu from the Touhou Project—the red-and-white shrine maiden everyone knows and loves. Having just finished this pre-con photoshoot, I couldn't resist posting these photos to check out the overall look.

From preparing the costume to finishing the look, a lot of dedication went into this Reimu cosplay. The skirt features a multi-layered design, blending blue-and-white stripes with dark floral-patterned fabrics, and is adorned with tons of lace trim on the bottom hem to keep the texture light and airy. The details on the collar are wonderfully crafted, featuring cute pink flower knots and heavy pleating. Combined with the off-the-shoulder cut, flared hem, and a floor-sweeping blue-and-white ribbon, the visual impact is incredibly gorgeous. Meanwhile, the gold tassels and hair accessories add a touch of traditional shrine maiden charm while enhancing the depth of the overall design.

For the hair, I went with a dark, long straight wig and trimmed the bangs. To capture Reimu's iconic look, I made a pair of massive ribbon accessories to sit on top of my head. These accessories are stunning, decorated with white ruffled lace at the edges and made from deep blue patterned fabric secured with gold ties. The sides of my hair are styled with cylinder-shaped hair ring ornaments from which long gold tassels hang, which will create a lovely dynamic swaying effect when I walk.

For my makeup, I went with a fair and soft base, sweeping a large amount of shimmering pink blush across my under-eyes and cheeks to create a natural, healthy glow with a strong anime-style aesthetic. I also added some depth to my eyes to make my gaze look more focused. This style of makeup looks very clean on camera without washing out my natural facial features.

When I head to Fujian Touhou tomorrow, in addition to wearing this outfit, I've prepared a few small props to match the overall look. Previously, many cosplayers told me that Reimu's headpieces require a great sense of balance because they are so heavy, but I've secured mine with several hidden clips, so everything feels very stable and won't wobble when I walk around.

I've spent the last couple of days packing my gear for the convention, combing through the wig again, and using setting spray to lock my makeup and the wig's bangs in place. Since tomorrow's venue is bound to be packed and warm, preparing these steps in advance will help me avoid any unwanted oil or flat hair styling.

While my schedule for Fujian Touhou isn't completely packed, I'm already incredibly excited about tomorrow's atmosphere. Doing a Touhou Project Reimu cosplay makes me pretty easy to spot, as this red, white, and blue color palette along with the oversized ribbon is highly eye-catching. While my face is hidden in the mirror selfie, the two close-up shots show off my energy and makeup beautifully.
