[Kafka Cosplay] Convention Photos: Embodying the Gorgeous Aura of the Stellaron Hunter

The styling focus of this outfit lies in constructing a strong visual contrast using four colors: red, white, black, and gray. The inner white shirt features a black strap design at the collar, which, paired with the slender black band around the neck, adds a hint of restrained techwear vibe. The outer oversized dark gray coat serves as the visual centerpiece, featuring an irregular white mesh texture on the surface and large patches of vibrant magenta spliced onto the hem and lining. This color contrast is incredibly eye-catching against the backdrop of the grand hall.

For the bottom half, I chose dark leather shorts paired with a wide black corset inlaid with golden geometric metal decorations, which highlights the waistline and hip layering. The red tights transition the colors of the lower body outfit smoothly, matching the black high-heeled knee-high boots decorated with white stitching. This combination of straps and leather textures enhances the sharp edge of the overall look. The magenta gloves on the hands perfectly echo the color of the wig while adding a striking accent to the costume.

The black round-frame sunglasses resting on top of the head serve as one of the soul accessories of the styling. Rather than being worn over the eyes, they act as a headpiece perched on the red hair, blending with the braided hair to add a touch of uninhibited casualness to the overall aura. For the hair, I chose striking magenta long straight hair, paired with light purple colored contacts and matching eyeshadow to achieve that cool, distant gaze. For the eye makeup, we deepened the shadows around the corners and under-eye contours, which, combined with a fair foundation, gave the face greater sharpness and a chilly presence under the flash.

The main prop used this time was a longsword with a black scabbard featuring a diamond-shaped white grid pattern, while the blade itself is silver-white traversed by a striking red stripe. During pose shooting, this sword worked well with frontal standing poses as well as crossed arms or resting on shoulders, greatly enhancing arm lines and overall sense of extension. Especially for the low-center-of-gravity horse-stance sword-drawing action in Photo 2, we adjusted the angles and lighting effects several times to capture a sharp, fierce feel.

The shooting location was an indoor grand hall with a massive dome and luxurious marble pillars, featuring red and white patterned marble floor tiles. This setting fit the character's noble yet distant aura perfectly. For lighting during the shoot, we used speedlights for main subject fill light while darkening the background ambient light, allowing all details—such as the coat folds, blade reflections, and boot leather textures—to stand out clearly. In several close-ups and half-body shots, the three-dimensional depth brought by this lighting interplay is clearly visible.

Inspired by the thought "In the endless universe, we are all lonely wanderers," we tried to capture that effortless yet cool expression of the character. From the stylish hand-raise in Photo 4 to the sword-holding stance in Photo 6, and the blade resting across the shoulder in Photo 5, every shot highlighted the composure of a cosmic traveler. My photographer partner and I worked in great sync—he managed camera angles while I controlled my postures and gaze landing points; the continuity of movements made shooting extremely efficient. The post-processing for this set also took some thought: slightly boosting contrast while concentrating color saturation on red, pink, and black, giving the entire image the vibrant feel of 2D roleplay characters while retaining the realistic texture of live-action photography. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the overall outcome of these convention photos; it was a deeply immersive character presentation and visual creation.
