[Cinderella cosplay] Her from Goddess of Victory: Nikke, Blue and White Maid Outfit Live Shots at Firefly ACG Expo

From deciding on the look to finally standing on the Firefly ACG Expo stage, this blue and white maid outfit went through numerous repeated adjustments for accessories and details. Since I chose to cosplay Cinderella from Goddess of Victory: Nikke, I wanted to recreate that cool yet sweet and pure temperament as faithfully as possible.

The main challenge this time was styling the silver-white twintail wig. Hair texture and volume significantly impact overall accuracy, and paired with red contact lenses, it instantly brought out the character's soul. The outfit has many details: the black-and-white ruffled headpiece with a black bow on top looks delicate normally, but under the studio's butterfly light spot projections, the edge layering looks beautiful. The white lapel collar and black bowtie at the neck form a classic combo, while the cutout with black criss-cross straps at the center chest and the small clock ornament at the waist serve as the visual centerpieces. Sheer tulle fabric on the shoulders and cuffs, paired with long white gloves, exudes a light and exquisitely ethereal aura.

I particularly want to highlight the lower-half design of this styling. White stockings paired with a light-colored thigh ring on the upper leg, combined with black chunky-heeled Mary Jane shoes, create a perfectly balanced contrast in color and length layering. The dress features multi-layered light blue tulle skirts that display a lovely natural drape and translucent feel whether standing and lifting the hem or sitting down. Furthermore, the white tights prepared for the shoot showed excellent texture under the lights and beautifully contoured leg shapes, visually extending body proportions when paired with the thigh ring—a detail I'm personally super satisfied with as part of my White tights cosplay setup.

The shooting venue was a set at the Firefly ACG Expo featuring butterfly projections. Those white butterfly light spots of various sizes in the background added huge value, giving the plain, clean white-and-blue color palette a dreamy atmosphere. The photographer Chuanyunjian was skilled at candid snapshots—whether holding the skirt while standing, lifting one leg to show shoe details, or sitting on the carpet in interactive postures, every moment was caught just right. Figure 1 even featured a side-by-side presentation of a real-life posture against the 2D illustration, which I found quite fun and instantly demonstrative of character accuracy.

However, speaking of posting, after sharing updates two days in a row yesterday and the day before with only around 200 views each, I felt a bit disappointed to be honest. After all, I prepared so diligently this time, invested heavily in costume and makeup, and carefully picked the photographer and retoucher—so seeing traffic not match effort naturally caused a bit of a letdown. But looking back at this photo set calmly, I feel every image stands up to close inspection. Being a cosplayer often means enjoying the process of transforming into another character; bringing Cinderella from Goddess of Victory: Nikke into 3D reality and capturing ideal photos is an achievement in itself.

In the photos, I tried many different poses—from elegant standing postures to gently lifting the skirt to show agility, as well as side-kneeling and a final half-body close-up shot—each delivering subtle nuances in temperament. I personally adore the close-up shot, where makeup details like eyelash curves, wig bangs styling, and a confident yet distant demeanor can be seen clearly. During makeup, I intentionally lowered eyeshadow saturation to make red pupils pop more, choosing a natural, soft lip color so a clearer overall makeup look better complements this blue and white dress.

This experience with Convention photos also gave me a better understanding of showcasing this costume under stage lighting. Since the skirt contains many semi-transparent tulle fabrics, chaotic lighting on-site easily blurs shots or ruins translucency, but the soft lighting in the studio was set up wonderfully, capturing textures of both the white tights and tulle skirt clearly, which detail-oriented fans will surely appreciate. Although traffic fell short of expectations, great work speaks for itself, and I will continue creating high-quality cosplay pieces, pouring heart into every shoot and every beloved character.
