[Varesa Cosplay] Genshin Impact Convention Photos Share: Energetic Moments of the Brave Cow

The character Varesa possesses a unique sense of vitality and strength in Genshin Impact. After seeing her name this time, I decided to try recording this vibrant trait in the form of Convention photos. The focus of preparation this time was on detail recreation, aiming to present not just character cuteness, but a temperament combining cool charm and cuteness.

Let's talk about the costume structure first. The main color palette of the top is a splicing of beige and black, with a black chest protector structure on the chest, while the neckline features a black serrated collar paired with white fur edges—a design that beautifully highlights shoulder and neck lines. The chest is also adorned with a cyan bow, pink small flowers, and golden badges; though small in area, these minor accessories break large solid color blocks for visual balance. The black pleated miniskirt on the lower half is paired with a red waist obi, where colorful geometric spliced pendants and golden buckles keep the entire lower half from feeling monotonous, adding plenty of layering instead.

For hair and makeup, the long pink hair was braided into a thick plait, with a light blue-green gradient treatment at the ends, which, combined with the teal cross-shaped hair clip on the bangs, exudes abundant maidenly vibes. The white curved horns on top of the head are the soul of this look, featuring a pink-purple gradient on the horns and an exquisite small bell hanging from one side, adding subtle dynamic accents with every move. The pink plush tail behind was also specially chosen in a style with matching fluffiness and diameter, so hanging behind it doesn't look overly heavy, but rather carries a playful charm.

This photo set tested three different action states. The first is standing on one leg, leaning forward with arms spread; this posture places high demands on center-of-gravity control, but turned out very nimble, expressing the character's relaxed, easygoing, and slightly playful daily feel. The second is a seated pose, sitting sideways on the floor with one hand gently caressing the cheek and eyes softened, a state closer to the character's private self with an added touch of languor and composure. As for the third, I chose a standing pose with hands on hips facing the lens directly, which I consider most suitable for the cover photo because it maximally displays the character's confident and bold side. Meanwhile, this short-top long-bottom outfit paired with an asymmetrical Over-the-knee socks cosplay and slouch socks layout highlights leg proportions and overall styling richness.

Regarding the location for this shoot, the floor featured highly reflective white tiles that not only reflected the character's shadow, but also made light reflection more even and translucent. Industrial steel trusses at the top of the studio and softbox equipment beside added authenticity to this photo set; relying on basic lighting setup and pose coordination rather than overly complex special effects to present the character.

Regarding the phrase "Brave cattle fear no hardship," I feel it fits Varesa's character personality wonderfully—looking cute on the outside, yet moving with a fearless spirit. From early prop preparations to on-site makeup fixing, down to every shutter press by the photographer, everything revolved around coordinating with this character core. Although there were many small costume accessories requiring constant adjustments to ensure photo quality, as long as it transmits that unique 2D charm of Genshin Impact, all these processes become a pleasure. The shooting process itself was deeply enjoyable; being able to find a state combining the character and oneself in front of the lens is the happiest aspect of cosplay. I hope to try more characters of varied styles in the future to discover more performance possibilities.
