This time shooting Honkai Impact 3rd Rita's Vow of Roses bridal look took a lot of thought right from the preparation stage. I was instantly captivated by the design of this pure white dress when seeing the original artwork, especially the translucent cross-straps around the waist and the swallowtail cut of the skirt. To faithfully restore this outfit, I communicated back and forth with the costume designer countless times on various details—from the selection of lace to the material of the blue roses—striving as much as possible to match the texture of the original version. The prop was also custom-made; that blue-and-black giant blade boasts fantastic texture under light and shadow, but holding it in hand definitely carries some weight, requiring wrist strength during shooting to maintain stable poses, otherwise fatigue shows easily.

The White stockings and golden cutout garter rings serve as a major highlight of this styling, significantly elevating the overall lavishness once worn. To match this outfit, I deliberately selected a pair of platform high heels; although my feet get a bit sore after standing for long periods, they excel at elongating leg lines before the lens, and combined with low-angle shots, the effect turned out exceptionally wonderful.

The shooting location was chosen indoors featuring stained glass windows. The overall scene layout centered around white and blue, flanked by massive amounts of white roses and blue hydrangeas. Coupled with the soft light filtering through the glass windows, the entire atmosphere fit the bridal theme to perfection. Since the costume's details are already exceptionally rich, I opted for a relatively translucent makeup look, focusing on depicting the sharpness of the eyebrows and eyes to capture Rita's elegant and composed demeanor. The wig was trimmed and styled beforehand; when the wind blew during the shoot, the arc of the drifting hair strands looked quite natural.

During the shoot, to showcase the layered texture of the skirt hem, the photographer had me try numerous spinning and skirt-pulling actions. The low-angle perspective magnifies the blade's oppressive presence and the character's aura, but it also imposes extremely high demands on facial expression control, as looking down even slightly can make one appear unconfident. The first photo features a classic standing pose with weight shifted to one side and the weapon slung diagonally across the front, which stabilizes the visual center of gravity of the frame. I personally adore the low-angle shot in the second photo; the front-short, back-long design of the skirt hem gracefully reveals leg lines, which, paired with the garter ring decorations, deliver powerful visual tension. Though the entire process was quite exhausting, seeing the final deliverables made all the preliminary efforts feel completely worthwhile. Every cosplay outing represents a brand-new experience—not only a tribute to the character, but a personal challenge to oneself through Anime-style photography.
