"Which lucky audience member shall I devour today? I'm so hungry~" Channeling this subtly perilous yet adorable persona, this Rumia Cosplay photoshoot has finally come together.

Together with photographer Chunqiufen and retoucher "I Love Fire Noodles" (online 8am-2am), we spent an entire afternoon creating at the Manke Shiguang Cosplay Studio. The studio set hit my aesthetic preferences dead-on: vast expanses of deep crimson drapery, dark iron chains, a floor carpeted in red petals and red spider lilies, combined with scattered skull props and staggered candles, creating an immense sense of spatial depth. To align with Rumia's juxtaposition of juvenile innocence and chilling darkness, we poured substantial thought into the posing choreography—from the micro-expressions while holding the kitchen cleaver to the contrastive cuteness of cradling a small plush doll, all striving to lend the visual narrative deeper intrigue.

This black-and-white dress was from my own wardrobe; the red ribbon bow at the collar and the red hair accessory served as key finishing touches, forging a classic color contrast against the black pinafore dress. The wig bangs were specially trimmed, and paired with crimson contact lenses, I practiced my gaze in the mirror for quite some time. In terms of props, although the kitchen cleaver was plastic, its texture read exceptionally convincing beneath the studio spotlights—the moment I raised the blade to look into the lens, an immersive wave of becoming the character truly washed over me. The chibi Rumia plush doll was brought along by myself; whether resting on the floor or hugged in my arms, it injected a dash of playful charm into the brooding gothic atmosphere.

A red-and-black set design places high demands on lighting; the slightest misstep and the subject dissolves right into the shadows. I am genuinely grateful to the photographer for mastering the light and shadow: a top light falling upon the blonde locks and fair skin made the subject pop crisply, while edge rim lights carved delicate dimension out of the black dress folds. The shoot was physically more grueling than expected; kneeling for long stretches on a floor strewn with flower petals left my knees genuinely sore. Particularly for those shots lifting the skirt hem to showcase the White stockings and Mary Jane shoes, repeatedly calibrating my center of gravity and arm placement was necessary to reveal the skirt's voluminous flare and clean leg contours. While the White stockings are a classic staple, against this gloomy chromatic backdrop, they functioned as the cleanest visual negative space, sharpening the silhouette of the legs against the red and black.

Regarding post-processing, as I handled retouching myself, the color grading heavily deepened the saturation of the reds while compressing the blacks, preserving authentic skin texture and subtle lighting gradations as much as possible. The entire session was an ongoing quest for that elusive mood—from the initial stiffness when hoisting the cleaver to gradually settling into Rumia's breezy yet mischievous dark streak. The temperature in the studio was rather chilly, so shedding the wig after wrap brought an instant wave of relief. This is simply an archive of a cherished passion project; sharing these frames to log the memory, eagerly anticipating exploring more diverse studio aesthetics next time.
