[Liu cosplay] Black Butler Traditional Chinese style cosplay derivative, the mortal world accompanying eternity with a pipe and Black stockings

This Traditional Chinese style cosplay setting of Liu from Black Butler has undergone many detailed adjustments from makeup and hair to clothing. Because the theme is accompanying eternity in the mortal world, the overall atmosphere leans toward Chinese vintage, so instead of choosing a conventional suit for the outfit, I changed into a cyan-green brocade satin long gown. The hidden patterns on the clothes present a water-ripple-like texture under natural light, and the red frog buttons at the collar and the jade tassel pendant are specially added embellishments. To make the overall color more layered, the inner layer was chosen as a light purple standing-collar top, with black frog buttons and golden cuff row buttons echoing each other.

The wig retains Liu's iconic black hair and front blunt bangs, but to match the theme, slender small braids were added on both sides, and the top of the head was styled into a Cat ear cosplay shape. In the second set of pictures, a pink flower hair accessory and a yellow long tassel were also pinned, making it look more imbued with a jianghu atmosphere. In terms of makeup, the eye makeup used a reddish tone to deepen the contours, paired with yellow contact lenses to highlight a bit of mystery. Holding a long-stemmed pipe in hand, to capture that lazy yet omnipotent feeling, the action was deliberately designed to be quite relaxed. The lower body is a pairing of black over-the-knee socks (Black stockings) and shorts; in the outdoor bamboo forest scene, the texture of the Black stockings and the greenery of the surrounding environment form a rather strong contrast.

This work was completed together with a partner, and the interaction state between the two of us is very natural. In the lens, I put my arm around his shoulder, or he leaned against me with his eyes closed; this intimate sense of distance is actually a equilibrium point we found after communicating for a long time before the shoot. Not only did I have to grasp the posture of the pipe, but I also had to control the emotional direction of the entire frame, allowing that free and easy feeling of only talking about this life and not the next life to be reflected.

The outdoor lighting changed very quickly, and to capture satisfactory pictures, we adjusted our standing positions back and forth along the wooden boardwalk and the edge of the bamboo forest. The material of the clothes is relatively thick; although the breathability is good, large movements still easily cause wrinkles, so the hem of the clothes needed to be adjusted at any time during shooting intervals. Sometimes, to wait for a suitable gust of wind to blow the tassels, we had to maintain a single posture for several minutes without moving.

In addition, it needs to be explained that this event does not sign dedicated autographs, mainly to ensure the shooting progress and quality. I've received many comments saying they want to see a different interpretation; actually, this kind of attempt combining Traditional Chinese style cosplay and 2D characters is also an exploration of mine in breaking conventional settings. From the selection of clothing fabrics to the texture of props, every single detail has been repeatedly confirmed. I hope that when everyone browses this set of photos, they can not only see the traits of the character itself, but also feel the efforts we have made in the integration of traditional Chinese styles. The smooth emergence of the final photos is inseparable from the cooperation of the partner and the dedication of every staff member on site.
