Firefly's Campus style styling required substantial effort in makeup, hair, and scene staging during pre-production. The wig features a silvery-gray base blending into a soft teal gradient, styled with gentle waves, while the leaf-shaped hair accessories at the crown serve as the crowning touch faithfully recreating the official design. The eye makeup emphasized diffused pink blush paired with crimson colored contacts, striving to embody the character's docile yet subtly delicate aura. For the wardrobe, a crisp white long-sleeved shirt was paired with a teal-and-gray plaid bow tie, accented with metallic clasps and a four-leaf clover badge across the chest. Over it was a gray, yellow, and black plaid pleated skirt, complemented by over-the-knee White stockings and black flat loafers. Flared sleeves with gray striped hems rounded out the ensemble, presenting a sweet, well-mannered school vibe with a hint of gentle detachment.
To match the theme of a deskmate sitting beside you, the photo studio constructed a dedicated classroom set for this Classroom photo. The blackboard featured handwritten chalk notes including 'Galactic Baseballer,' 'Cram School,' and a 17:30–19:30 schedule, while vintage leather briefcases and drink props were arranged neatly across the desks. During shooting, I explored a variety of interactive poses—such as perching on the desk with crossed legs, lifting one leg behind to adjust my loafer, or relaxing in the chair with open hands. The texture and elasticity of the White stockings were paramount before the lens: keeping them taut to avoid wrinkles, while working with lighting to draw out a translucent, soft texture rather than harsh glare. For lighting control in the classroom, soft overhead ambient light was combined with lateral fill lights to create an everyday freshness. Hand gestures holding small props also had to feel effortless and natural without looking stiff.
The posing across the entire set centered around an everyday slice-of-life atmosphere, aiming to convey simple, warm happiness. Sitting on the edge of the desk required engaging my core to maintain balance while minding the skirt hem to prevent wardrobe issues. The shot adjusting my shoe took multiple takes to capture the moment when the leg contours looked most graceful, paired with an engaging gaze directed into the lens. Prop arrangement in the classroom was equally vital—books and briefcases on the desk enriched the scene without overpowering the subject. The photoshoot progressed smoothly, and lighting adjustments showcased the sheer quality of the White stockings. The resulting images preserved an airy 2D anime charm while infusing authentic campus life warmth.
In designing poses, I intentionally steered clear of exaggerated anime stances, incorporating grounded, lifelike actions instead—such as leaning over to slip on a shoe, perching on a desk, or gazing wistfully out the window. This everyday intimacy helps viewers resonate more easily, as though sitting right beside an actual classmate. Between takes, I checked the wig fibers and hair accessory placement to ensure a clean look from every angle. When photographing White stockings, I favored low-angle shots or side lighting to accentuate leg lines and enhance three-dimensional depth. Even with watermarks, post-processing maintained a crisp, luminous look. The grid lines and chalk lettering on the studio blackboard deepened the narrative resonance of the entire frame, making it truly feel like a quiet evening at after-school cram school.
