Kanade Tachibana's school uniform and white wings styling has always been a style I wanted to challenge, and this time we finally brought the seaside location shoot to fruition. This photo set primarily aims to share the early preparations and on-site shooting insights.

First is the crafting of the wing props, which is the core focus of the entire styling. To capture a lightweight feel fluttering in the wind by the seaside, I used a lightweight skeleton this time and layered a large amount of artificial feathers on the surface. The direction and angle of every single feather underwent multiple adjustments; the front needed to showcase the voluminous three-dimensionality of the wings, while the back tried to conceal the internal structure as much as possible to avoid breaking character immersion. Wearing them is also a technical skill, utilizing invisible shoulder straps and fixed points at the waist to form a stable weight-bearing structure so that it wouldn't wobble and sway in the sea breeze.

Regarding the costume, this classic uniform required a strong focus on cut and fabric. The pleats of the pleated skirt were treated with stiffening in advance to prevent them from losing shape due to the strong winds by the sea. The paired White stockings and loafers closely followed the character design in details. On the makeup and styling side, Kanade Tachibana's gaze is usually calm and aloof, so I toned down the eye makeup colors, used light shades as a base, elongated the eyeliner slightly straight, and specially trimmed the bangs while applying a generous amount of styling spray on the sideburns to withstand the strong wind.

The shooting location this time was situated in a coastal rocky area, where the offshore wind turbines in the distance and the endless sea surface matched the atmosphere exceptionally well. The biggest challenge was the black piano prop; transporting it onto the rocks and ensuring it was placed stably under safe conditions consumed a considerable amount of physical energy. The sea breeze during the shoot was extremely strong, communication relied basically on shouting, and constant attention had to be paid to touching up makeup and fixing the wig. For the shots sitting on the piano, to maintain the graceful lines of the legs and the overall center of gravity, core engagement had to be kept tight throughout. Low-angle upward shots were taken to capture the moment when the sea breeze lifted the wings, which was a true test of the photographer's timing and the frame's tension.

Although location shoots lack the controllable lighting of studio shoots, nature's natural light and the sea breeze endowed the photos with a vivid texture. This time, it captured that state of Kanade Tachibana being lonely yet possessing a hint of freedom by the sea, and the overall outcome achieved the envisioned expectation.
