Today’s Firefly styling turned out to be an absolute success. Falling right on Qixi Festival, I thought pairing a fresh bouquet with this sailor suit would be lovely, and the photos turned out even better than I envisioned. For the wig, I went with a long, straight silver-gray style cut with subtle layering and neat, blunt bangs. To stay faithful to her temperament, I added gray hair accessories resembling animal ears on both sides of the crown, tied with a matching gray bow headband—these little accents really elevated the styling. The contact lenses were chosen in a soft violet hue; paired with deepened eye contours, darker eyeshadow, defined eyeliner, and distinct false lashes, my gaze had vivid presence in front of the lens.
For makeup, I deliberately kept the foundation clean and luminous, paired with a slightly redder lip to bring out a healthy, vibrant complexion. The outfit is a white sailor suit with dark gray striping, meticulously recreating the collar design and chest detailing. The bouquet was prepared in advance with a gentle blend of pink, white, and blue flowers. Cradling the bouquet naturally helped me relax my posture during the shoot, and the soft floral hues formed a lovely, gentle contrast with the silver hair.
In post-processing, I added a subtle filter, a pair of black-rimmed glasses, a yellow cartoon finger sticker making a "shh" gesture by my cheek, and cute white cartoon teeth on my lips. These stickers were just a playful touch—since it's Qixi Festival, I wanted to share something fun and lighthearted without making the atmosphere too rigid. The background was a simple white wall at the event venue bearing a red banner and black lettering; though partially cropped, the sharp color contrast made my silver hair figure pop cleanly from the frame.
Honestly, when doing cosplay, the most time-consuming part often isn't the makeup, but adjusting costume details and styling the wig. Silver wigs can look terribly frizzy if neglected, so before shooting, I spent considerable time brushing and sculpting the strands to achieve that natural drape without clinging flat against the scalp. The collar and cuffs of the sailor suit also needed careful smoothing to stay crisp and structured. Many friends ask me what to look out for with this kind of character: I think the most important thing is establishing a solid foundation with the wig and makeup. Once those two are dialed in, even shooting with a phone will yield fantastic results.
