The final photos of this Kafka night shoot are finally out, and I mainly want to share some practical details. For the costume, a wine-red long-sleeved shirt was chosen; this fabric presents a gorgeous texture under a single hard light at night, and pairing it with a black corset is very form-fitting. The black Stockings chosen are a slightly glossy style, which, paired with metallic-buckle high heels, beautifully flatters the leg shape. When posing sitting on the bench during the shoot, special attention must be paid to pointing the toes and the overlapping angle of the legs; slightly tightening the thigh muscles makes the lines look firmer, while touching the lips lightly with fingers and looking straight into the lens adds a touch of mystery. Resting the sunglasses on the head is a key prop that enhances the character's temperament. The difficulty of a night shoot lies in balancing the lighting and the background, requiring good control over depth of field so that the street signs, billboards, and traffic lights behind become blurred atmospheric bokeh. The first close-up photo sitting on the bench has a relatively clean composition; the second is a standing pose on a pedestrian zebra crossing, using a wide-angle lens to elongate the silhouette while the fluttering skirt hem provides dynamic movement; the third, sitting with legs extended forward, is what I consider the shot that best displays the styling details of this set. Regarding equipment, a large aperture lens was used with a flash as the key light source. Since it is dark at night, the shooting must be steady and careful with foot safety. The combination of black Stockings and high heels is indeed demanding; wearing high heels for a long time during a shoot makes the feet very tired, but it is well worth it to restore the character's unhurried composure. Post-processing mainly focused on fine-tuning color temperature, suppressing shadows, and preserving neon colors to give the overall picture a cool, edgy urban feel. Shooting this set took about an hour, and the whole process was quite fun. I hope this simple night shooting approach can provide some reference for friends who want to shoot similar styles.
