For this Boothill AU, I experimented with an all-black suit style. I really wanted to present his wild, unrestrained Galaxy Ranger demeanor in a colder, more urban fashion. The cut of this three-piece suit is exceptionally tailored; the silhouette of both the vest and blazer hits just the right balance, instantly giving the posture a sharp, upright presence. Instead of buttoning the inner white shirt up properly, I deliberately left the collar open and slightly rumpled to break away from the stiff seriousness of formal wear, teasing out his innate nonchalance, casual ease, and that aura of living on the dangerous edge.

The wig and makeup were the main highlights of the prep work. With a silver-white base and that prominent streak of black hair across the forehead, failing to sculpt the hair grain and layers properly could easily result in a stiff bowl cut. I spent considerable time trimming, pinching, and styling it to ensure a natural transition between the black and white sections, giving the hair a windblown, textured tousle. For the eye makeup, beyond using dark eyeshadow to deepen the eye contours and elongate the eye shape, the distinctive black mark under the eye served as the defining accent. Paired with cool-toned contact lenses, I aimed to capture his deep, razor-sharp gaze infused with a touch of unhinged intensity after enduring countless battles and cybernetic modifications.

The shoot took place late at night, and nighttime lighting proved quite challenging. A pitch-black background paired with direct frontal flash maximized facial makeup details and fabric textures. Meanwhile, utilizing a distant modern building glowing with horizontal blue light bars as a backdrop introduced a striking cyberpunk urban mood—a wonderful visual clash with Boothill's galactic origins. To match this abstract shoot theme, I designed bold, expansive poses: a profile stance with one hand pocketed, a cold direct stare while leaning against the railings, and a reclining pose on the steps gripping my collar that conveyed battle wear and vulnerability. In particular, the deep forward bend was a true test of core strength and flexibility, but the tension and dynamism in the resulting photo were incredible, fitting his unpredictable nature to perfection. The final photo holding up the phone case was purely spontaneous fun once we let loose toward the end.

In terms of accessories, the long golden earring stood out brilliantly against the dark backdrop, infusing a hint of lavish flair. The platform black dress shoes not only elongated the leg line but also provided steady footing during dramatic poses. As an AU concept, this black-suit Boothill naturally diverges from the original design—apologies for any OOC—it was simply my desire to see what facet of this Galaxy Ranger would shine through in modern urban attire.
