This set of Phainon's collaboration showcase is finally out. To be honest, my very first reaction upon receiving this costume and that greatsword was that they were incredibly heavy. To recreate the delicate refinement of an anime character, the costume features numerous metal components and layered pieces. The interwoven color palette of white, black, blue, and gold presents an exceptionally fine luster under the church candlelight. The black shoulder armor with gold trim, combined with the alternating black and white geometric lines on the chest, creates an incredibly rich sense of layering. Coupled with that flowing blue cape, it looks like a cold streak of light when swinging the sword, perfectly fitting this solemn and chilly atmosphere.

The shooting took place at the Chenying Sanctuary of Bancheng Dimension, where the Gothic stained-glass windows were truly the crowning touch. The blue-purple light filtering down through the glass already created a fantastic atmosphere without needing too much extra lighting through church photography. Standing on the wooden steps with the white angel statue and swaying candleholders behind me, I felt as if I had truly stepped into that world full of order and chilling solemnity. For the shoot, we intentionally avoided the harsh midday sun and chose the dusk hours. That blend of orange-yellow and deep blue cold-and-warm contrast happened to echo the white, gold, and blue tricolor of the costume. When holding the giant sword, the reflection from the blade shone on my cheeks, making my gaze look even sharper. This kind of impromptu candid shot is often more vivid than a deliberately staged pose.

My absolute favorite is that giant broadsword. The golden thorn design on the hilt is very eye-catching, and the red gemstone in the center, combined with the sheer weight of the entire weapon, required me to mobilize my entire body's core strength to stabilize it when posing. Battle-ready stances like lifting the sword over my head or resting it on my shoulders really tested my core strength; my arms were indeed a bit sore after the shoot, but seeing the final photos made it all worth it. Compared to wearing casual clothes daily, the cut of this cosplay costume is much more rigid and structured, which naturally made me straighten my back when standing. This physical feedback from the body in turn influenced my emotions, making it easier for me to immerse myself in the character's all-disdainful state. No need for flashy adjectives—this genuine wearing experience is what makes me feel this work stands on solid ground.

The photographer was excellent at catching motion, using a blower to make the cape and the hem of the coat flutter. Combined with a few cold backward glances and power-gathering actions I designed, they completely captured the character's aloof yet powerful aura. As an ACG Cosplayer, I don't really like the style of over-editing where all the details are blurred out by skin-smoothing; instead, I prefer to preserve some textures of the clothing and fabrics, as this is what truly reveals the authentic charm of cosplay as an art form. Every time I do a cosplay, it's a re-deconstruction of my understanding of the character. From styling the wig to putting on the armor, and then channeling the gaze, this is not just a simple dress-up, but an immersive experience. Although this Phainon look involves quite a lot of armor and feels a bit heavy, wearing it for a long time actually brings a strange sense of security.

Finally, I want to thank the photographer and support crew on site. Everyone was busy running around to find the right lighting angles and coordinating with me to adjust the direction of the giant sword swings. Although it's just a cosplay shoot, every moment of serious investment in the scene feels like a form of respect for the work and the character. I hope to pass on this dedication to high-quality production, freezing the most fitting moment within this sanctuary.
