This time, I shot this blue and white Chinese style outfit for Luo Tianyi cosplay in the studio, and I must say the studio lighting really understood me perfectly. The main light source shone down from the upper side, which, combined with the white flower branches and blue gauze curtains in the background, completely brought out the cool-toned texture. Under the lights, the paper umbrella prop and the ribbons on my body gained a very translucent sense of layering. Especially the gloss on the edges of the hair and the skirt hem naturally gave the entire frame an ethereal atmosphere.
During the shoot, I specifically communicated with the photographer that I wanted a cool yet soft feeling. The studio set used alternating shades of blue, which matched the character's overall temperament perfectly. The fabric selection for this traditional style cosplay costume is also very deliberate; the outer layer uses a reflective satin, while the inner top and trouser legs are made of lightweight gauze, which creates excellent movement when walking. For the makeup, I simplified the colors as much as possible, focusing on highlighting the cleanliness of the eyes and skin tone, paired with the long silver-gray hair to make the overall visuals more unified.
I adjusted several angles in front of the lens and finally picked out these two photos. The close-up in Photo 1 allows you to see the details clearly, while the full-body shot in Photo 2 better establishes the relationship with the scene. Actually, every time I shoot this Vocaloid character, it brings a different experience. This time, with the help of professional studio lighting and layouts in the studio, we really recreated the character's celestial and fairy-like vibe quite accurately.
