[Lucy cosplay] The Dreamer Beneath the Moon in Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

For this shoot, we chose a composition featuring Lucy's back on the moon. Recreating the costume was one part of the challenge, but the hardest element to master was the character's emotion within that environment. The red zipper on the back and the undergarments were made with custom fabrics, while the white sleeves offered a graceful drape; a subtle weathered treatment gave them a travel-worn, gritty texture. The wig featured silvery-white short hair, trimmed with a special focus on tiered layering and controlled disarray at the ends to harmonize with the overall look. On the day of the shoot, we used a solid backdrop to facilitate Post-production compositing. Before shooting, I spent a long time fine-tuning my seated posture to capture that lonely yet intensely focused state—relaxing my shoulders slightly and casting my gaze into the far distance. The primary hurdle in heavy compositing lies in seamlessly blending the character's edges with the background. To match the subject with the scene, we recalculated the perspective, placing the massive celestial body directly ahead and slightly above, while boosting the faint glow along the horizon. Stray hair strands along the silhouette and shadows had to be retouched stroke by stroke, ensuring the light fell from the right to outline one side of the body so the figure wouldn't look rigidly pasted on. For the clouds and lunar ocean textures in the background, we referenced the warm-and-cool contrast of the anime, steering the overall mood toward cold tones while keeping the red line on the back vivid as the primary visual anchor. The shooting and retouching spanned a considerable amount of time, but the final visual impact was genuinely thrilling. This recreation was not just about dressing up as a character; it was about expressing that unyielding obsession to chase dreams beyond gravity from Cyberpunk 2077 and Edgerunners. Being able to materialize this scene in reality through photography and post-production was a deeply rewarding endeavor.
