This New Year cosplay themed shoot has actually been sitting in my hands for a while, just fitting the saying, \"If I don't post it now, the New Year will be completely over.\" Right now, this mage and everyone else have gradually returned to our workplaces, so taking advantage of this start-of-work node, it's the perfect time to share this set of photos filled with a vibrant New Year spirit. The core concept communicated with the photographer on the day of the shoot was \"New Year vibe\" and \"warmth,\" because the character's own winter attire is perfectly suited for this warm and relaxed atmospheric feel.

Let's first talk about the design of this costume, which overall features a patchwork of three main tones: white, brown, and gold. The large areas of white plush texture along the collar and cape edges visually maxes out the winter warmth, making the whole look appear very fluffy. The inner piece features an asymmetrical cut paired with brown and gold geometric patchworks, along with white over-the-knee socks and brown fur-trimmed boot covers. Overall, it retains an authentic Chinese winter garment silhouette while keeping the character's original agile adventurer temperament. The hair accessories were also specially adorned with metallic and light blue accents, adding a touch of clarity amidst the vibrant red background.

To fit the \"New Year\" theme, we prepared quite a few holiday props in advance. For the first recommended cover photo, I chose a composition of holding a red-and-gold \"Happy New Year\" couplet and sugar-coated haws. The red spherical texture of the sugar haws looks translucent and enticing under the light, perfectly echoing the couplet visually. Gold ingots and red envelopes also became great partners for interaction. When holding these props, the photographer told me not to force an overly formal or tense posture, but to maintain a casual, relaxed vibe sitting at the edge of the Baxian table and interacting, resembling a true-to-life scene of offering New Year greetings to family and friends.

The set decoration also took quite a lot of thought; the wooden Chinese lattice windows and the Baxian table laid down the overall tone. On the table sat a few mandarins symbolizing good fortune, Chinese pastries, and a small dish of dipping sauce. Red lanterns hanging at staggered heights, handwritten calligraphy scrolls, and a lush arrangement of red maple leaves in the background—these large areas of warm-toned elements built up a highly enthusiastic atmosphere on set. In terms of lighting, we chose a soft, warm light source to simulate cozy indoor lighting. There were no harsh shadows on the character's face, ensuring that even under close scrutiny, the details of the eye makeup and the reddish-pink contact lenses were clearly revealed.

A small hiccup encountered during the shoot was that there were many props on set. To avoid the hanging scrolls and lanterns, we had to constantly adjust the camera positions when framing. Fortunately, the photographer and I coordinated with excellent rapport, ultimately achieving a composition with substance in the foreground, scenery in the background, and the character completely at the center of visual gravity. Later during post-processing, I actually overlaid some graffiti fonts on the first photo to add a bit of fun for social media. However, if used as a cover, I personally still feel that the clean composition of the second photo—with the character centered and holding the two core props—is the most suitable.

Returning to the workplace after the holidays truly brings a refreshed feeling. Being able to combine the character's original style with traditional festive scenes to create some unique visuals this time was a creative process I thoroughly enjoyed. In the new year, whether it's the pace of traveling or the speed of typing on the keyboard at work, I hope to maintain full vitality, just like the red elements in this photo set.
