[Jane Doe cosplay] Street snapshots of Zenless Zone Zero, today's little rat arrest operation

Putting on this Jane Doe outfit, one's posture and center of gravity unconsciously lower, making all-fours postures feel strangely natural and comfortable. The light greenish-gray techwear jacket provides great fit and coverage, layered over a black cropped top and a red-and-black striped tie, with the white fleece trim at the collar adding a soft contrast amidst the hardcore industrial style. I really love the details on these harness straps—the black straps printed with white "ROVER" lettering, combined with the weight of the square metal buckles resting on the body, perfectly balances the lightweight fabric of the jacket, making the entire silhouette look fuller and more three-dimensional.

That segmented mechanical tail is one of the souls of the entire gear; its tubular gray material paired with the signature red arrow ornament at the tip, coordinated with the dark beast ears at the base, blends the character's organic creature feel with tech elements quite naturally. During shooting, the tail's position needed constant adjustment to maintain its tension in the frame without letting its support rods and angles look too stiff. This time at the ijoy anime convention, we chose an area near the glass curtain wall for on-site shooting. Natural light poured in through the large floor-to-ceiling windows, where warm and cool reflections, tile floor reflections, and the yellow-and-white caution lines behind already provided distinct street atmosphere lines inherent to the environment.

A large part of the styling's visual center of gravity falls onto the lower body: black shorts paired with a Black tights outfit featuring irregular sheer cut-outs around the knees and thighs, combined with those multi-patchwork platform heavy mecha boots. The red, white, black, and gray palette forms a striking color contrast against the green jacket on the upper body. These heavy boots actually place high demands on joint flexibility when posing—especially for movements requiring one leg to be fully extended and stretched out—where one must ensure steady foot grip while controlling the height so the red accents on the boot soles deliver sufficient visual impact.

In terms of shooting angles, we deliberately experimented with multiple perspectives, alternating between low-angle looking up and overhead shots. These low-gravity crouching poses and single-leg lifted postures maximize the outfit's expressive potential in motion. The texture of the black tights, combined with the hard edges of the armored boots, the fingerless mechanical gloves on the hands, and red nail polish accents, allowed the close-up lens to capture a glamorous yet slightly rebellious expression in the makeup. The visual tension of Anime-style photography often lies not in exaggerated special effects, but in restoring the core essence of the character in these seemingly casual snapshots.

Actually, Convention photos usually seek softly lit half-body portraits or close-ups, but tailored to this character's personality traits, we deliberately preserved this cool metallic background and subtly restrained body language. The beast ear props on the head and the red-black highlighted hair, set against clean blue pupils, brought out that casual yet alert state unique to New Eridu in Zenless Zone Zero. Because the character's setting inherently carries that casualness and hunter-like alertness, the gaze and posture captured during shooting were largely natural manifestations of that state. Holding onto this aura was what we most wanted to achieve in this shoot.
