I brought immense anticipation to today's outdoor shoot. Making the most of the gorgeous sunlight, I headed out to a park bench in this Swimsuit Seia look. To align with the summer joyride concept, I layered a vibrant yellow translucent blouse over a pale blue one-piece swimsuit, topped with orange-yellow plush animal ears and that playful yellow visor cap adorned with a cartoon face. The second I put on the green-tinted, gold-framed sunglasses, that effortless, languid, yet mischievous aura materialized instantly. Even without a real steering wheel in hand, crossing my legs on the wooden bench and imagining cruising down a summer coastal highway felt wonderfully whimsical.
Capturing this photo set genuinely tested our mastery of illumination. Sunlight at 3 PM filtered down through the tree canopy, melting the background into shimmering green bokeh circles. In such backlit or rim-lit outdoor environments, heavy facial shadows can easily creep in. Aiming for an unscripted, airy getaway feeling, I steered clear of overly rigid poses—simply leaning back naturally against the bench slats or leaning slightly forward to rest my weight over one leg. The photographer, Xiaoqiang Wonder, was incredible at catching candid beats; every time I adjusted my shades or flicked my ponytail, the shutter clicked right in rhythm.
The wardrobe's palette was strikingly bold: sweeping blocks of vivid yellow and soft sky blue popped vibrantly against the lush verdant foliage. When the summer breeze blew, the sheer fabric of the blouse caught the wind in soft, billowing curves, injecting lively kinetic energy into static frames. While the yellow platform shoes demanded steady ankle control on uneven ground, they elongated body proportions wonderfully on camera and balanced cohesively with the futuristic anime-style headwear.
On outdoor shoots, I used to worry about makeup melting under high heat. To preserve the luminous texture of raw camera files, the foundation was applied whisper-thin, focusing instead on sharp contour definition. Minimal red accents from the bold lipstick and crimson choker neatly grounded the light, breezy color scheme, drawing the viewer's focus directly to facial expressions.
Sitting on the bench sipping ice water between takes, presenting a beloved character in such an organic, everyday state amidst nature felt deeply rejuvenating. There were no convoluted plot scenarios or elaborate studio backdrops—just simple summer light, dynamic shadows, and a lovingly crafted coordinate. That is precisely the singular magic of a Summer location photoshoot: stripping away superfluous embellishments to let the camera freeze an authentic moment of joy.
