[Lynette Cosplay] Lily of the Valley Waltz: Light Feline Steps in the Night

The moment I changed into this Lily of the Valley Waltz outfit, what flashed in my mind was how to recreate Lynette's signature cat-like lightness and mystery in front of the lens. This night-view outdoor shoot at Naihuangbao Comic Convention actually took quite a lot of effort from early preparation to final photos.

Let's talk about the costume's texture first. The white tube top fits skin smoothly, with a dark green gem accent on the chest paired with matching bow ties, maxing out the visual focal point immediately. What I love most is the skirt design—the white gauze skirt cascades down into a gradient teal, studded with subtle glitter that flows like water waves under swaying night lights. The off-shoulder detached sleeves are extremely breathable, with fluffy gauze cuffs edged in teal, giving a light, airy grace with every gesture. The big black bows on both sides of the waist act as contrasting highlights, keeping the color scheme ethereal yet playfully charming.

Wig and facial details also stick as close as possible to the character's traits. The pale gold wig was layered and trimmed, while the fluffy cat ears on top were custom made—soft to the touch and instantly granting that kemonomimi feel. To stay true to the character, I wore light purple contacts and added a tiny red mark on my left cheek. For the choker, I picked a black-and-white lace style dangling a teardrop pearl gemstone, making neck details even more refined.

Actually, the venue atmosphere at Naihuangbao Comic Convention suited fantasy-tinged attire perfectly. At night, string lights around buildings lit up into warm yellow light spots, with a serene water pool in the backdrop. The photographer, Mu Bai, excels at handling night bokeh spots; instead of harsh fill lights, we cleverly utilized the cool ambient lighting of the location itself. Across the entire set, the dotted background bokeh sparkled like a starry sky, maxing out the atmospheric feel.

In terms of posing, I kept attempting a cat-like ease and flexibility. Many stretching or finger-touching motions in the photos were intended to show her calm composure. Lightly waving the small wand with a flowing light blue ribbon swept both the gauze skirt and ribbon up together, giving candid captures a breathing dynamism. Raising both hands to gently pinch the cat ears also made clever use of the puffy gauze sleeves to showcase shoulder and arm lines.

When it comes to character restoration, I believe Lynette's charm lies not only in her gorgeous appearance, but even more in her calm, composed, almost lazy mystery. Facing the lens, I tried to relax as much as possible without forcing rigid poses—leaning casually against railings or extending a hand naturally. The photographer noted that this relaxed ease captures the exact essence the Lily of the Valley Waltz outfit conveys.

From morning makeup and dressing to navigating night crowds for proper angles, it was tiring, but seeing those light, airy moments in the final photos made every bit worth it. Mu Bai's shutter captured numerous vivid moments—fewer rigid poses and more of a natural sense of being immersed in the world of Genshin Impact.

This Naihuangbao Comic Convention experience was very special. Quietly shooting a set of night-scene Convention photos for Lynette's Lily of the Valley Waltz amidst a lively ACG atmosphere felt like a fulfilling cosplay experience. Character design in Genshin Impact is always filled with clever details, and recreating them in real life is something I've always enjoyed. I hope every future location shoot keeps this relaxation and focus, telling each character's story through photography.
