Just got the convention photos back, and I can't wait to share them with everyone. This time for the convention photos, I chose a very lightweight white tulle outfit paired with gold accessories. In fact, putting it on, taking it off, and walking around was more troublesome than imagined, but to recreate Yu Linglong's elegant and slightly playful charm, all these hassles were totally worth it. The hair is super long, so I had to hold it up a bit while walking around the venue; otherwise, it would easily be stepped on or snagged by passersby.
The lighting on-site is completely different from a studio shoot. The overhead light was very bright, and the convention background was quite cluttered, which really tested the photographer's skills. The biggest challenge for this set of photos was actually that black metal folding stool. I had to maintain body balance while keeping the posture looking relaxed and natural. Especially with the barefoot look, along with the gold ornaments and fuzzy balls on the ankles, I tried adjusting my center of gravity several times just to get the leg lines to look good.
The atmosphere at the convention was very lively. Although the background was full of people, the photographer used a wide aperture to blur out the cluttered background, highlighting the visual focus of the entire character. The white tulle, gold accessories, purple gemstone crown, and that iconic silver-white hair actually looked quite ethereal under the cool overhead lights of the convention.
Many people worry that convention photos are not as exquisite as studio shoots, but I think the greatest charm of convention photos lies in that immersive experience. Walking through the crowd in this outfit surrounded by fellow fans and visitors makes me feel instantly transported into the game world. I changed into several different sitting poses, including looking back and sitting straight, trying my best to stay close to the original character design's confidence and composure.
I felt quite sentimental when preparing for post-processing. Every time I do a cosplay, it's not just about showing off the costume, but also an understanding and reshaping of the original character. From the color palette of the makeup to the positioning of the jewelry, everything has to be weighed for a long time. This particular outfit catches the light under the sun, so the on-site lighting had to be handled very carefully to avoid overexposure while preserving the weightless feel of the tulle dress.
In these convention photos, the white-and-gold color scheme is truly eye-catching in the convention environment. Both the highlights on the hair and the texture of the skirt hem are well-preserved in the photos. I hope everyone enjoys this set of Yu Linglong convention photos, and as a Cosplayer, I look forward to meeting you all at the next exhibition with an even more perfect state.
