[Lynette Cosplay] Genshin Impact Magic Assistant and Cat Partner: A Healing Scene Together

The theme of this shoot is a Lynette cosplay from Genshin Impact, mainly wanting to present a sense of relaxed comfort between the character and a real pet. For the styling, I chose the iconic blonde and white wig. The bangs on the forehead and the side braids took quite a bit of time to fix in place, and together with two fluffy animal ear props on top, they restored the overall silhouette of this Animal-eared girl. Wearing purple contact lenses gave the eyes a deeper look, with a warm red blush layered beneath the eyes to contrast with the cool-toned ambient light. As for the costume, the white shirt features small gold accessories at the collar, while the dark leather jacket outer layer has clean tailoring, combined with a large teal bow on the chest, giving off both a magician's crispness and a peculiar touch of elegance.

Because I had to hold a real cat while shooting, the difficulty was actually far greater than expected. When I first cradled the cat in my arms, it was a bit nervous, gently gripping my shirt with its claws. But in less than ten minutes, it completely relaxed, falling asleep right against my arm, which led to the shot in picture one—the cat with eyes tightly closed, sleeping with its mouth slightly open, its front paws stretched out comfortably, lounging totally unguarded. During shooting, I barely dared to move, fearing I'd wake it up; such quiet moments are extraordinarily precious. Picture two, on the other hand, was the exact instant it was startled awake by the shutter sound or ambient noise, suddenly opening its eyes to look at me, its round yellow-green pupils full of sharpness, as if wondering what had changed.

This contrast from extreme laziness to instant alertness gave this photo set a strong sense of storytelling. Often in cosplay, people strive for standardized expressions or poses, but for this work, I leaned more toward a documentary style, recording the cat's genuine state. The cool blue ambient light hitting the hair strands and leather jacket created a magical visual feel hovering between 2D and reality. There were also little episodes during actual shooting, such as the cat occasionally playing with the bow ties on my outfit or trying to break free and jump down; capturing those split seconds turned out to be unexpectedly lively.

Besides the outfit, for makeup I emphasized a clean and translucent skin texture, creating a high contrast with the dark jacket so the image feels bright rather than dull. When holding the cat, I kept my hand movements as natural and relaxed as possible without forcing posed positions, because animals are very sensitive to stiff movements. The overall layout chose vertical close-up compositions to highlight the interaction between the character and her Cat partner, complemented by a clean, cool-colored background at the doorway that prevented the frame from looking cluttered. As a Casual cosplay attempt, I feel that completing character portrayal alongside a real animal is far more interesting than simply posing inside a studio. I hope this piece, filled with life's warmth and pet interaction, allows everyone to feel another possibility of conversing with the character.
