[Sangonomiya Kokomi cosplay] Genshin Impact Dreamy Bridal Log on Day 1 of Miyosummer

I finally had the opportunity to wear this Kokomi Dreamy bridal outfit offline and meet everyone on Day 1 of the Guangzhou Anime Convention miyosummer. In fact, this fan-made bridal outfit took quite a long time from final design to production, mainly to recreate the essence of ocean romance and fantasy. When I first saw this bridal illustration, I was captivated by the deep purple corset around the waist; the gold trim decoration on it and the beaded string details along the collar shared a remarkably similar elegance with Kokomi's original Genshin Impact artwork. Paired with the overall fluffy white bridal dress and its layered ruffles, honestly, wearing it even inside the fitting room gave me a sense of pure ceremony.

What satisfied me most was probably the handling of the wig this time. I was always worried that the pink and blue gradient highlights would look plasticky in person, so I spent quite a bit of effort trimming and styling it. The pearl ornaments on top of the head and the teal drop tassels are the visual highlights of the head area. To ensure they wouldn't fall off during a whole day at the convention, I used far more clips and snap buttons than expected when securing them. But it was all worth it, as the photos turned out exceptionally translucent and clear.

Let's talk about the skirt pairing. This set actually hits a great balance between sweetness and subtle allure. Although the bottom part features a short white tulle skirt, to guarantee freedom of movement, I specifically paired it with White stockings. The light purple lace thigh ring on the upper leg not only enriches the lower body color palette, but also makes the transition between the hem and long stockings look more natural. Also, these white platform shoes—honestly, running around a convention all day makes a moderately soft sole so essential. Flat shoes might make feet hurt after standing all day, but this slight platform heel actually relieves pressure from prolonged standing and walking. When walking around outdoor venues, the long white veil flowing in the air makes taking great photos super easy; although it occasionally trips passersby or gets flipped over by the wind, that's a small trade-off for that dreamy atmosphere.

Speaking of taking photos, we encountered fantastic natural light outdoors this time. Although outdoor lighting at miyosummer can be somewhat harsh, luckily we rushed to take several sets during the morning and near-dusk time slots. The pose lifting one leg in Figure 5 was specifically adjusted to make body proportions look slighter and longer while maxing out the airy light quality of the white tulle. Many people asked if this Dreamy bridal dress easily exposes underwear; in fact, the skirt's structural support is solid, so doing various poses is totally safe with just a bit of caution. There are also close-ups holding the flower bouquet and gazing shots like Figure 7; I feel quieter expressions better fit Sangonomiya Kokomi cosplay traits of gentle delicacy, even if this is a casual fan-art design.

The atmosphere at Guangzhou Anime Convention is always super passionate, and I've seen all the compliments and returned photos everyone shared during the event. Although this Kokomi bridal outfit leans toward a romantic Western wedding dress style overall, it retains many signature elements of the character from Genshin Impact—such as the purple bowtie, exquisite headwear, and the overall blue-purple-pink color palette. From makeup details to outfit layering, I strove to make this look feel less like a randomly pieced-together ordinary wedding dress, but truly imbued with Sangonomiya's quiet yet refined, opulent characteristics. Sometimes standing before the camera, as a gust of wind brushes the white veil past my eye, it truly gives you the illusion of participating in a grand ceremony. This is a special experience that many other casual character cosplays rarely bring me.

Of course, any exquisite costume requires meticulous maintenance. Wrinkle prevention for the veil and shape setting for the ruffles were specifically treated the night before departing. I am used to arranging all accessories in order of wear the night before heading out to an anime convention so I can leave methodically the next morning. Some friends might think wearing a bridal look at a convention is too eye-catching, but nowadays people are extremely inclusive of diverse styles. Especially in a convention space, every carefully prepared costume injects a unique energy into this dimension. Being able to leave these wonderful photos at miyosummer, brushing shoulders with friends who share a love for this setting while exchanging smiles, is the biggest reason why I love attending offline anime conventions.

Let's talk a bit more about the small shooting details. Figure 3 and Figure 5 both capture moments of walking and turning around. Though this long-tailed veil carries an ethereal vibe, walking through convention crowds wearing it is actually quite challenging. I needed to anticipate where the veil would land before turning to prevent it from tangling into my shoes or sweeping against passersby. The turning-head shot in Figure 6 required coordination between eyes and neck-and-shoulders; to keep the veil from looking too stiff, I intentionally let it flow with the wind direction, and the photographer caught that exact moment. Post-processing for this set maintained the original photo's translucency, without excessively driving up saturation or contrast, as I wanted to convey that clear texture as if bathed in warm spring sunshine. While the essence of cosplay lies in recreation, I personally feel that adding some of one's own aesthetic ideas while maintaining core elements gives the final photos more memorable character. This bridal look was an attempt combining personal interpretation with original spirit. Meanwhile, the white platform Mary Jane shoes added a touch of playfulness and stability to an otherwise flowing silhouette. After the convention, the most painful part of cleaning up this outfit was removing jewelry layer by layer, but touching that high-texture deep blue corset and reminiscing about today's eyes and lenses filled with kindness made every effort feel totally worth it.
