This time, I'm sharing on-site photos of Little Cheshire from Azur Lane. The costume design is packed with intricate details, from the layered blue-and-white ruffled skirt hem to the oversized back bow, fully radiating the playful elegance of a cat-themed maiden. To faithfully recreate this airy, adorable charm, I enlarged my eye makeup and styled a signature grey-blue gradient wig—especially the cyan highlight at the hair tips, which echoes the blue-and-white color palette of the dress. The shoot took place on a lovely afternoon with great outdoor light, backed by massive gnarled tree roots, where natural daylight filtering through the canopy cast gentle, layered lighting across the entire set.
Holding the oversized golden bell was the centerpiece prop for this shoot; its distinct metallic sheen caught natural light brilliantly, serving as an eye-catching visual anchor. In the first and third photos, I treated the bell as the core of interaction, gesturing as if offering it to the viewer or holding it snugly in my arms to make the character feel lively and approachable. The cover shot—raising one leg with arms spread wide—actually required serious core balance; the white lace thigh-high White stockings paired with black platform shoes visually elongated leg contours, and as the dress fluttered organically with movement, her cheerful vitality came alive instantly.
As a cosplayer, the biggest hurdle of doing this look outdoors was securing the headpiece and petticoat. The headpiece is relatively voluminous and fitted with small bells; gusty winds can easily throw off its balance, requiring careful adjustments of clips and ribbons prior to shooting. The upper bodice is layered with exquisite lace and ruffled trims, which looked rich but felt quite warm for a summer shoot. However, to present the character at her best, these minor challenges were well worth it. The photographer was experienced at capturing dynamic motion, encouraging me to spin around in the gentle breeze to catch the flare of the skirt and ribbons rather than holding stiff poses, giving the photos a breathable, organic feel.
While preparing this piece, I studied many of the character's core traits—that innocent yet subtly mischievous kitten persona needs to be channeled through micro-expressions and body language. Gestures like flashing a slight toothy smile while holding the bell or letting a sparkle gleam in the eyes when glancing around took repeated practice in front of a mirror. While pairing White stockings with a short skirt creates a quintessential anime aesthetic, walking on outdoor lawns required extra care to keep the hosiery clean, avoiding muddy patches and fallen leaves.
The final results aligned beautifully with my vision for Little Cheshire—avoiding exaggerated, forced stances in favor of a relaxed, natural presence before the lens. The blue-and-white dress set against the lush greenery felt delightfully refreshing. I hope everyone feels the heartfelt dedication in this Cosplay outfit and the intrinsic cuteness of the character through these photos.
