[Rosmontis cosplay] Arknights Firefly ACG Expo Photo Return

Today at the Firefly ACG Expo, I cosplayed Rosmontis from Arknights. The details on this costume are remarkably rich: a pure white long straight wig paired with a set of plush beast ears featuring a soft pink-and-blue gradient, topped with a crown-like headpiece accented by golden spikes. For cosmetics, I chose pink-hued contact lenses with coordinated color blending around the eyes to complement the ethereal, dreamy visual aesthetic.

The core outfit is a multi-layered dress in a crisp blue-and-white palette, featuring intricate lace trims at the collar and cuffs. The bust showcases deep blue criss-cross lacing centered with a golden circular ring ornament. The detached sleeves and skirt hem are embellished with blue silk ribbons and delicate bow accents. To coordinate with this dress, I wore a pair of light blue lace-trimmed Stockings paired with beige heeled ankle booties adorned with metallic accents.

The convention floor was an expansive industrial-style exhibition hall, with towering overhead pipes and ceiling floodlights in the background. Because the harsh top-down venue lighting was rather unforgiving, we scouted a relatively open concrete clearing and utilized portable fill lights to illuminate my facial features, preventing harsh shadows from compromising the makeup. After discussing ideas with my photographer, A-Shuai, we decided to focus primarily on dynamic action poses. The true essence of this outfit lies in the skirt and the flowing white train behind it; static standing poses would feel stiff, so during the shoot I experimented with lifting one leg and sweeping my arms outward to let the ruffled hem and satin ribbons flutter naturally in the air.

For the crouching shots, spreading out the multi-tiered skirt demanded painstaking arrangement—carefully smoothing each layer of white lace and the deep navy pleated underskirt while letting the two trailing navy ribbons drape organically beside my legs. In standing poses, the pairing of light blue stockings and gold-accented high-heeled booties flatteringly contoured the leg lines, though managing core balance was crucial during motion to avoid stepping on the voluminous train.

With heavy camera gear and passing convention-goers everywhere, we relied on a shallow depth of field to melt the background clutter into soft bokeh. Action captures heavily tested stamina and coordination, often requiring repeated takes to nail that single frame where the arc of the billowing skirt and the intensity of the gaze aligned perfectly. Pure white wig fibers easily blow out under intense lighting, necessitating continuous calibration of light positioning and angles. While repeatedly adjusting the heavy layers of the gown was physically exhausting, fully translating the garment's dimensional textures and the character's delicate spirit before the lens was an immensely rewarding experience.
