This time for Furina's cosplay photoshoot, a lot of effort went into the makeup, styling, and details. Genshin Impact's character designs are always meticulous, and Furina's attire is even more full of theatricality and layering. To restore that exquisite feel, I specially prepared a pure white short wig this time, trimmed the bangs on the forehead, and kept the iconic ahoge. The early styling of the wig is very important; hairspray needs to be used to shape that natural fluffiness without looking too rigid. The headpiece is a small silver crown, which actually needs to be fixed very securely on the head, otherwise it would fall off with slight movements during shooting. The contact lenses were chosen to be ice blue, paired with a clean and translucent base makeup, and the eyeshadow part used a little light blue and silver glitter to brighten, trying our best to highlight the clarity and arrogance in the gaze.
In terms of clothing, this dress adopts a large area of white, light blue, and black patchwork. The black petal design on the chest and the blue-and-gold cummerbund at the waist are the focus. The material of the waist corset is relatively stiff, and to ensure the silhouette remains crisp when worn, some support was added inside. The lace and collar at the neckline were also carefully selected for texture, matched with a golden gemstone necklace, maxing out the details. The skirt hem is a distinct multi-layered fluffy skirt design; the outer light blue fabric features golden piping, which has a great reflective effect under light, and the inner layer is a black basic tulle skirt. What satisfies me the most is the leg coordination: one thigh wears a black lace garter ring (stocking ring), the lower leg is wrapped with golden cross straps, and paired with black high heels, which not only enhances the overall refinement but also makes the leg lines look particularly slender when walking. The long black and blue trains extending from the back of the skirt hem add a flowy feel to the frame when there is wind or when turning around.
The prop used for the shooting is a very substantial blue long sword, with the blade having a graceful crescent-shaped arc, gemstones embedded in the complex hollow design, and decorated with blue ribbons. Because the prop itself has weight, when holding it with one hand, you need to find the right exertion point, keep the arm steady, master the angle of the wrist, and make the finger posture look relaxed and natural. The half-squatting, diagonally holding long sword pose in the photos actually tests core strength quite a bit, requiring you to maintain an upright back and a calm facial expression. For the standing shot, one hand held the sword grounded while the other hand stretched out to the side, coordinated with the background's sheer fabric, requiring the person's entire state to be very stretched out.
The scene setup was mainly to echo the overall cool color tone. Deep blue velvet curtains were hung on both sides, surrounded by white and light blue artificial flower bouquets, and the ground was covered with white-and-blue alternating sheer fabric, like rippling water waves. The cool-toned lighting on-site combined with a softbox made the model's skin tone look fairer and more translucent. The state this set of photos wants to present is Furina's elegance combined with a bit of supreme arrogance. In front of the lens, how to use the eyes and limbs to convey the character's personality is a harder part than simply wearing the clothes well. Every shutter click is a dialogue with the character.
