The process of shooting this set for Rosmontis "A Light Dream" in Arknights was actually quite similar to the atmospheric feel of the outfit skin itself. From early preparation to entering the studio for shooting, the entire process was filled with visual storytelling. The focus of this "A Light Dream" styling lies in that aloof yet slightly playful demeanor.
First, let's talk about the makeup, wig, and costume. The fluffy white wig was styled with distinct layering to give an airy feel as if kissed by a gentle breeze. The animal ears on top and the crown-like headpiece with gold supports and blue gems really tested the securing details of the wig. As for makeup, I specifically added a subtle reddish blush smudge under the eyes and cheek area, paired with blue contact lenses, giving my eyes a slightly bewildered yet lively look. The costume itself has a strong Lolita style foundation; the blue, white, and black color-blocking is classic, with rich details in lace, ribbons, and grid patterns on the neckline and hem. Once worn, that vintage noble vibe instantly comes through.
The immersive feel of this set design was truly maxed out. The photographer and support crew prepared black-and-white checkered floor tiles, a massive stained glass window backdrop, staggered white Roman pillars, and various chess props. In Photo 3, I sat right next to the chessboard holding a yellow candlestick, with the blue light shining through the stained glass window behind me. The cold-tone contrast across the whole frame was very striking; I felt this composition and pose nicely restored the character's elegant and quiet moment, so I chose it as the cover. Meanwhile, the black chess pieces, black sphere, and hanging crystal bead curtains in Photo 1 added even richer depth to the image, requiring me to control my body's center of gravity and hand placement during the shoot to avoid blocking the background.
In Photo 2's shoot, I tried making direct eye contact with the photographer's camera lens, holding a black chess piece over the chessboard on the table as if engaged in a silent game. Those close-ups really tested eye focus, and the overall bokeh depth of field in this photo was done wonderfully, pulling visual focus completely back to my face and hand movements. Then in Photo 4, I leaned against that black sphere prop with a more relaxed posture. During shooting, this outfit's voluminous skirt could easily restrict body movements, requiring us to repeatedly adjust seating posture and hand gestures to ensure the skirt folds flared naturally and blended the costume styling with the character's state as much as possible.
Because this Rosmontis "A Light Dream" skin inherently carries an ethereal dreamlike quality, we retained plenty of blue-and-white tones in color selection, using only yellow candlelight for a touch of warm-cold contrast without overusing complex ambient lights, making the shot scene look clean and high-end. Participating in this shoot for the Arknights Creator Support Program, every time we refined the set and poses allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the character. I hope this dedication within the blue-and-white dreamscape can be conveyed through these photos.
