[Suzuran Cosplay] Healing Moments in Arknights' Golden Sea of Flowers

Catching the spring blooming season at its peak, I booked this outdoor photoshoot for Arknights Suzuran cosplay with my photographer. The location chosen was a vast canola flower field in the suburbs, where expansive stretches of bright yellow felt incredibly healing. Although the weather turned quite hot on the shooting day and the sunlight was somewhat dazzling, a bright sunny day like this best recreates the character's vibrant vitality and warmth.

Regarding this look, a lot of effort went into hair treatment and securing the animal ears. Suzuran's white ears are large and need to present an upward, lively curve. I prepared wire frames internally for support in advance and carefully covered the trace lines with hair strands to ensure no flaws were exposed under the natural lighting of the flower field. That fluffy large tail was another highlight of the styling; its material is very soft yet carries some weight, requiring caution while walking through flower bushes to avoid getting snagged by branches. Luckily, friends on-site helped manage props, allowing me to focus on posing naturally in character as a Kemonomimi girl.

The overall tone of the outfit leans toward lightweight battle gear, with a white ruffled off-shoulder design, black straps across the chest, and teal accents providing great visual layering. The black long staff held in hand served as another focal point in the frame—its metallic and geometric structural joints carry a solid sense of weight whether shown in close-up or raised in long shots. The accuracy of props directly impacts final results, so we repeatedly polished the prop's details.

For this Spring outdoor photoshoot, we covered several different angles. The first photo was shot from a slightly higher elevation, with photographer @猫有演并式 shooting downward, which wonderfully displayed the depth created by the large tail and staff, separating character layers from the blurred flower field background. The second photo used a lower camera angle, having me sit in a half-squat amidst the golden blossoms, evoking a feeling of being embraced by spring. It was very windy that day, with golden fields waving like ocean waves; it took multiple candid snapshots to capture hair and tail strands floating naturally in the breeze. Though tiring, seeing the raw color tones made everything worth it.

In interpreting Suzuran, I primarily wanted to capture the quiet yet resilient quality of her personality. She isn't an overtly extroverted operator; her strength leans toward gentle protection. Thus, in facial expression control facing the camera, I didn't forcibly play cute or make grand gestures, but rather felt the surrounding sunlight and wind to let emotions flow naturally. As a cosplayer, it's not just about wearing clothes, but understanding the core of the character so that genuine emotional resonance can shine through the lens.

After finishing the shoot, we ran back and forth along the field ridges to catch perfect lighting angles, leaving boot soles caked in mud and skirt hems dotted with yellow pollen. Yet that is the charm of an outdoor shoot—unlike the refined control of a studio, it is full of serendipity and vitality. I hope this spring photo set conveys bright sunshine and the character's unique healing warmth to everyone who sees these photos.
