[Nyamu cosplay] Dark Gothic Styling Log of Ave Mujica from Arknights

The theme for this photoshoot was Nyamu from Arknights x Ave Mujica. To achieve the most ideal visual impact, enormous effort went into everything from early costume prep to on-set execution. This performance outfit features an incredibly elaborate design centered on black, weaving together leather straps, lace, and a heavy plush faux-fur capelet, paired with high-gloss leggings and tall boots to forge a weighty, richly layered silhouette. For the wig, I selected a shoulder-length soft lilac bob, carefully trimming feather-light layers to frame the jawline alongside a miniature red-and-black top hat and beast-ear accents that flattered my facial profile before the lens.

For makeup, the focus was concentrated on rich reddish eyeshadow paired with crimson lips, chiseling defined three-dimensional facial contours under cooler studio lighting. The studio set carried tremendous atmosphere—deep-red velvet drapery and black-and-white checkered tile floors offered striking chromatic contrast. Several photographers and fellow creators joined that day; to recreate that iconic moment of a performer commanding the center stage under relentless media capture, I sat on an ornate carved wooden armchair while numerous smartphones reached into the frame from all sides. Being enveloped by lenses from every angle made for an exhilarating concept. I focused on keeping my spine straight and resting my arm effortlessly across the chair's backrest, timing my breathing to maintain a razor-sharp, piercing gaze while letting the plush stole drape right at the shoulder edge to channel visual focus toward the chest ornaments and silhouette.

To amplify the gothic aesthetic of this ensemble, I styled glossy reflective black leggings over my legs, contouring snugly against muscle lines to reflect nuanced, irregular sheens under studio strobes that contrasted sharply against the matte textiles of the bodice. Tall boots not only anchored the visual weight of the lower body but elongated the leg lines in seated poses. The lighting setup embraced theatrical drama, utilizing overhead top lights to carve out crisp rim silhouettes. The shoot was physically taxing—particularly dealing with the stifling heat trapped under the plush fur beneath burning studio lamps—yet witnessing the vintage, high-tension drama in the finished stills made every ounce of effort worthwhile.
