Shooting this GODDESS OF VICTORY: NIKKE collaboration Asuka was truly an extreme operation in the cold wind. The temperature that day was very low. In that scene filled with industrial vibes and red neon lights, in order to capture the moment when hair and skirt fluttered, I wore this thin red dress and stood at the wind gap for a full fifteen minutes. The material of this outfit is a reflective leather or glossy satin; it looks textured, but it's completely windproof—once the cold wind blew, it chilled me to the bone. However, for that sharp, fierce feel in the final image, I just had to endure it. The twin-tailed wig is extra long, and whenever the wind blew, it easily tangled or plastered across my face. During the shoot, I had to tightly control my facial expressions while using my hands to brush away stray hairs to ensure the frame remained clean and sharp.
The photographer wanted a visual effect interwoven with cyberpunk and stage aesthetics, so we kept searching for the optimal angle of the light tubes. These final two photos were snatched amidst the gale. In the first one, I lightly lifted the skirt hem with one hand while stretching the other hand upward. This pose actually tests your balance quite a bit, and you also have to make sure the shoulder lines are open. The second one is a dramatic whip-around; to capture the dynamic feel of the skirt and hair instantly bursting outward, I put all my strength into twisting my body, almost spraining my lower back. The lace choker around my neck and that iconic eyepatch are absolute finishing touches. Wearing the eyepatch slightly impairs vision, so to accurately target the lens, I had to tilt my head slightly to adjust, but this actually added a bit of that unbridled feel unique to the character.
Although the black short gloves look cool, my hands were long frozen stiff in the cold wind, and my fingers actually had little sensation when pinching the skirt hem. Then there are the black stockings; to showcase the sexiness of the absolute territory in front of the camera, I deliberately squatted down to adjust the position of the strap marks so that the flesh on the edge of the thighs looked more natural and realistic. The deep V and diamond-shaped cutout design on the upper body of the outfit happen to expose the collarbones, matching the red ambient lighting in the background. The highlights hit my skin and the reflective surface of the skirt, instantly bringing out a dangerous yet charming vibe. In fact, shooting photos with such large movements relies on tightening your core; otherwise, flailing around easily looks disorganized. When whipping your hair, you have to hold your breath the moment the shutter clicks, and your gaze must firmly lock onto the camera. This time we shot for a full fifteen minutes, but makeup, styling, and preparation took several hours—from the smoothness of the wig to the fixing of hair ornaments, every single detail had to be meticulously refined. The red-and-black color blocking in the final photos is the most perfect visual impact in my heart.
